A lot of people source their turbo manifolds from Junk Yards. OEM truck ones are probably the most popular. You can use them with the flange that comes on them, you can buy the mating ones to weld to your hot side, or you can cut the triangular flanges off, and weld Vbands on. They are steel, not cast iron, so you can modify them as you wish. I've seen people make logs out of them. My turbo manifolds below, they were once on a 2009 Yukon. Cleaned them up and had them ceramic coated.
Alot of guys use C6 manifolds in swap cars.
I'm using Cadillac CTS-V LSA manifolds in my 2nd generation rx7.
Another option is Hooker cast manifolds.
Look around for pictures and see how different manifolds line up in relation to the motor and compare to it being installed in your car.
There's a handful of different designs out there odds are one of them will fit your application pretty good.
i think the KB log is schedule 40 304 stainless weld els and pipe. and he's probably getting some flanges laser cut locally.
and the truck manifolds are definitely cast iron. there was a thread here where a guy sent a coupon in to be tested. hell if i know why they weld so easy, but they do.
I'm just telling you what the GM press release says. There are also many grades of stainless. Maybe they are cast 409 stainless, which actually does stain and is magnetic?
Subscribing. I'm also hoping to put a single turbo on my first gen Camaro soon. I have been researching header/manifold options too. What turbo you going with?
My manifolds are built with sced 40 steel pipe weldel's that I get from a local steel shop and are mig welded. I've built 500+ of them now and only ever had an issue with one and that was a truck trying to use his On3 turbo like it was a diesel and tow 10K lbs trailers through the mountains. Just cooked the manifold from being in boost for so long.
Lots of folks forget about the 98 F-body manifolds. They are stamped stainless steel and weld great, picked mine up for $50.
Here are stamped SS 98 Fbody manifolds I welded up.
Or cut/weld on the cast truck stuff.
Pretty easy to cut a stock manifold and weld on a schedule log or mild steel to it. Even the cast iron stuff welds great with a MIG. Better than starting from scratch and dirt cheap compared to aftermarket manifolds. I've welded up many sets and never had an failure/crack.

My buddy made his own log manifold out of stainless. Lotta work and time in the fabrication. I used truck manifolds flipped and they tigged up fine. I also used a small gas torch to heat the manifold up prior to welding. No issues at all. Very easy to alter and weld up.
I purchased all my sch 40 mild steel fittings from a place called King Metals, the best prices I found. The shipping from them was even more accurate, some other places were charging crazy amounts to ship.
Just look up ebay turbo headers. They can be had for super cheap now days. I'm running a modified set. No problems thus far. They look good and are functional. No cracks, easy to weld.
