Default dyno results are in.

Well finally got it dyno tuned, surprised me a quite bit especially with it being a stingy dyno. Car does pull great just can't wait to see what it does in real world events. Peaked around 6200 but it carried to about 6700 which isn't shown on the pic.

Thanks. 1&7/8 LT's 3" duals with x pipe over axle with 2 magna flow bullets on either side. Im pretty stoked to finally get some data on the TMS heads.

Good deal. Yeah I've been curious about these TMS heads as well. I've been running their 370 shortblock for a while now and have been very happy with it

thats good to know. Even the tuner when tuning, which is very very reputable to say the least. He said this has to be the smoothest 450 stock cube ls1 I've seen. It just drives with barely any surge but it just pulls and pulls. Im happy with it.

That's good. Sounds like your tuner knows his stuff. A buddy of mine just did a setup very similar to yours but with AI 243's and with a stalled auto it made like 457 I believe. His cam, intake and exhust are very similar to yours

lol thanks Darth! Dang thats pretty impressive for an auto. Yes he does, he is the fella who tunes the fireball camaros. Also always racing in drag week with his fox body.

I've been waiting for these results for a while actually lol.. we have been talking how similar our set ups are so it would give a decent comparison from AI to thompson heads.. I knew we would end up very close! Awesome results and actually makes some more torque than mine did. I think the only major differences is he is 6 speed and has an xpipe.. cams are practically the same and both running fast 92.

I think it is safe to say the thompson 243s are potentially the best bang for the buck right now based on these results. Glad to see you have it running strong!

Pulled to over 7k but cant see with graph smoothing.. i was expecting more what you had.

I think this was a different run versus the graph.. you can see you did much better on torque.. not sure if auto vs 6 speed makes a difference or maybe it's the x-pipe? You wouldn't think we'd be that much different

Figured I'd post to show side by side comparison.. what LSA is your cam again can't remember if you had more or less overlap?

thats awesome. I was actually trying to dig up the old thread and find you lol. I agree, i think these heads did damn good. I'm at 11 degrees overlap. its 111 lsa. can't wait to really test them out. at about 5500 i would say it becomes a different animal. its awesome. Cant wait to spray it lol.

Yea i've noticed a lot of the same things that you mentioned as far as driveability and smoothness also.. I am 8 degrees overlap and you are 11, but i'm shocked how well my car drives.. i would have to do pretty drastic things to even get it to buck or surge.. Usually in reverse feathering into a parking spot where i tap the gas multiple times it may slightly stumble for a second and recovers on its own, but in normal driving in stop and go traffic it never surges at all.. Pulled real heard to 7k and is a beast from a low speed roll if you have traction lol.

Now i just need to find out where i'm missing that nice 30 torque that you have lol.. So far the only differences that i'm seeing are you have an X-Pipe vs. my Y-pipe, 3 degrees more overlap, 98mm lid vs my volant intake, and i'm a stalled auto with 3.23 vs your M6 with 3.73. Maybe others will chime in where they think the difference is.. It doesn't really matter to me, but its always having close comparisons like this and can create good discussion.. especially with your set up having TMS heads that you cant find any info on.

yes for sure, i have a lil cam surge down low rpm but as soon as i touch throttle its all good. Yea idk, i also have 25%UD pulley as well as you do, only other thing i can think of is solid motor mounts has less loss but i wouldn't think it would be that much.

Don't underestimate the value of the X pipe. That could well be a big part of it.

As to bucking - if you can identify what cell (g/cyl vs RPM), take 2-3 degrees timing out right in that cell. Helps quite a lot.

I have poly mounts so the motor doesnt really move much..as darth said im wondering if that x pipe is the biggest difference.. half tempted to get one just to see the difference lol.. speed engineering has a new true dual set up that looks pretty affordable and goes over the axle..

I wonder how a really good y-pipe with a 4" merge compares to a x pipe
