LS2 into 72 Chevelle

LS2 into 72 Chevelle
Has anybody else put a LS2 into a 72 chevelle and had problems with the oil pan sitting on the center link? I have a ls swap pan for this vehicle with the rear sump and it is pretty thin and do not think i can get any more thin. The motor has to drop another 1/4 to fit in the motor mount but it is on the center link. any help is appreciated.

It takes pretty specific pan geometry to optimize the fitment of an LS engine in the
A-body applications. These three images show the Holley 302-2 oil pan clearance with center link and the inner tie rod ends at full steer in both directions. As a point of reference, the Holley pan is 1.25" tall on its front end.

That is a possibility.
However, these were the recommendations from a few years ago when this project began and many
others were doing it successfully. So ......we'll see I guess. I'm just NOW finally getting back to finishing it
so maybe there's better options now I can explore. This is an example of the spacers

Are there better recommendations these days with the A-body and F-body oil pan ???

I'm using the Holley 302-2 and forward position Holley 71221006HKR forward mounts on the 5.3 going in my 72 Chevelle Wagon. When I built my 71 Chevelle with the LS2/TKO-600 (~2010), I used the Edelbrock adapter plates (discontinued) and the Autokraft oil pan. I really like where the forward fit mounts put the motor. It gives easy access to the transmission bellhousing bolts compared to the edelbrock 1" set back mounts I used on my 71.
