Has anyone tried the FItech 70050/70051
#81
I also ordered the 2nd 02 today and the part number (amazon) screenshot seems to be correct, same as the innovate 4.2 sensor. I was able to get it for $50 shipped from summit under price match. I also verified the alternator and IAT sensor plugs are correct, however my stock harness only has 1 wire to the alt plug.
My setup is a 99 5.3
NNBS intake
92mm WARR tb
Aftermarket fuel rails
72lb bosch FIC matched injectors
Ported stock 862 heads with Howard springs
Morel 5315 lifters, cloyes chain, GMPP HV oil pump
Straub bushing retrofitted stock rockers, moly pushrods
Custom cam motion 218/228 .561/.561 114.5+5.5
Full SS headers, 3 to 4 FM merge into a 3" fatback
Torqstorm supercharger running 11psi
2004r with billet internal upgrades, 2400/2600 stall billet converter with oversized lockup clutch, dennys 3" nitrous ready DS with 1350 yokes, ford 8.8 with 3.55 gears
Estimated HP is around 650 at the crank prob closer to 700. Right now HP tuners has been working fine besides a cold and hot start issue and a light surge when coming to a stop that goes away a few sec later. I'm hoping the FItech takes care of the cold start and idle annoyances.

glide which is in the car or go back to my 4L60E RPM Level X Circle D 4000
and E85
Was FI and then went to carb, now that I'm carb and E85 I only get about 8-10 mpg and still can run 9's easy but miss cruising. Before I was getting 22 mpg and running pump gas and could drive 70 miles to track and run a 9.
Had HP tuners but for me it was a pain anytime I wanted to test something out. So looking for simplicity
So I'm waiting to see how the kits are on start up and self learn.

I'm still in the process of rewiring car. 86 fox coupe but with new 89 tank and sending unit and 450lph pump. Found out 86 fuel gauge will not work with the newer sending unit,"Ohm's are diff" so now i'm using a 93 harness and dash "I have to have a fuel gauge" rewiring it for the 86 headlights and the 89 steering column "no airbag plus tilt" also installed the fitech with harness going thru firewall on passenger side where factory harness goes thru and mounted ecu in passenger kick panel area. I'm running an LQ4 with LS6 intake and alternator is low on drivers side. The fitech harness for the alt. is short going to the bottom, looks like its for truck alternator location. I'll keep working... Johnny Cash version Mustang.

Just got my EFI connection adapter harness for an LS1 2 bar map sensor to convert to the FItech LS3 plug. And it fits! It's short at like 7" end to end but it will work and thus I don't have to back up the harness and void the warranty. This is if you want to run and LS1 style sensor for 1-3 bar style and can't use a LS3 sensor like in a stock truck intake which I'm running.

So what are you saying? The MAP plug that comes stock on the FTech is made to fit on an LS1 set up? Im not familiar with any of these plugs yet so your loaing me... but im interested in learning them, fast!! Cler this up for me a bit.... please??
Thanks man,

It's easy, the FItech harness has a connector for a LS3 MAP sensor.
If you don't have a LS3 map sensor and can't upgrade to an LS3 map sensor in the 1,2,3 BAR (which every suites your needs) then you need to adapt the LS3 connector on the harness to the MAP sensor you have.
I have a LS1 style NNBS truck intake, the truck MAP sensor is is a different style than the LS3 so it physically won't mount into the truck intake. I don't feel like replacing the sensor with an LS3 and figuring out how to get it to fit cleanly. It's cheaper for me to get the harness adapter and use the GM 2 BAR sensor for my application that I already have. But finding one that converts the LS3 harness to a LS1 Map sensor was hard to find.

Physically this is the difference in the LS3 plug on the right (FItech harness) and the LS1 plug on the left. They are not the same and will not work together. You must get an adapter if you want to run the LS1 style sensor or cut the FItech harness and wire in the LS1 connector, once u modify the harness you void the warranty so I would advise against that unless you have no choice.
LS1 on left and LS3 on the right

Ahhhh!! Much better, I hear you now!!! LOL!! Man, sometimes i still have a hard time with all the abreviations and all that ****. But its now a lot better. Your explanation was stellar, thank you!! I dont know why, but reading it at first i could not compute it, lol!! The next one with the pic is gonna help those that are worst than i am!! LOL!!! Heyyy! Something for everyone!!
But seriously, thanks... i needed that!!
You guy's are awesome!!

Looks good! Did you have 2 wires to your alt in the stock harness? I talked with FItech and they aren't sure why my stock harness only had 1 wire (prob just an exciter 12v) to the alt plug. I'm just worried it will fry my $300 power master alternator. Hopefully that will reach my alt which is pushed up and out in a truck style billet bracket.

I just bought the 70050 standalone kit. I should have all the parts by next weekend and i should have it running by then. I already had the motor running in my truck for 4 years now so it will just be a harness swap. I will update when it is up and running.

Anyone with the #70051 Kit with Trans Control use it yet. Interested to see what the programmer will let you set your trans like. Does it just give a generic soft, firm, hard. Or can it learn of your driving style. Does it have a traction control option? I know it's new just trying to wait patiently for the reviews to flow in.
