LS1 Intake not Fitting with LS6 PCV Conversion - Searched - Not Steam Tubes
So.
Converted to LS6 Valley Cover/PCV
Notched inside the valley cover.
Valley cover fits great. Torqued down.
WITHOUT THE STEAM TUBES, when i set the intake manifold in, it rocks a little from the front corner to the rear corner. I cant really see under the manifold and what its rubbing on. Any Ideas?
So here's a little FYI for whoever runs across this thread with the same problem.
It's not the bolts.
Apparently for the 04+ LS6 valley cover, using the LS1 intake manifold, the valley cover casting hits some of the ribs on the underside of the intake manifold. See attached pic. You can see in the center the area I had to grind to make it fit. Two small areas. Fits like a glove now.

Ya cant use them under an ls3 either. But make sure you do use them. I run mine around and down through an oil cooler cooling the water before it goes, back into the radiator.

It wasn't the steam pipes. It was the actual valley cover
Has anyone successfully used the LS6 updated valley cover with the Weiand 300-111 LS1 intake? I'm just in the process of installing the intake and it appears to hit the protruding bumps. On another note I saw a LS2 Valley cover that has PCV port and it doesn't have the offending bumps???
