Had been thinking about a bigger bore engine for a long time. Dart Lsx next, Lsx, resleeved Factory block etc... Well while heading to Mississippi I decided to call my ole buddy TuskeyZ and asked him to see if he could locate me a aluminum block. Called returned in around 5 min. Found 1 - 5.3 aluminum block for $200. On my way once I drop this load. I can’t never finish one thing without another deal coming by. It’s cool. Just find another way to budget it in.

That was Only a joke in reference to the BTR package. I’ll make my own package and heads again. $600 for a pair of Ls7’s and port work $1200. No extra cost of welding the exhaust valves for smaller ex valve this time. 4k for heads is out. I figure I can get the 400 cfm mark & good port velocity cheaper than what they’re selling them for. Escorting heavy loads takes you miles off the easy path and you can’t drive past dark. Brookhaven,MS for a night and onwards to Jackson.

And these seem to look like Rowdy Yates heads, flow numbers look Nearly Exact to what Darin M. sent.

It was 2 hrs north of Jackson, MS. Got there around 12:30. Met Wade cool freaking dude he does Ls swaps. If he were in Houston he’d make a killing. He had just made a engine crossmember for a older model Caddy. Runs solid with the Ls swap(I followed him from town to his home) Said he had a old Stang with a 406 on a 250 shot on the bumper doing 8.60”s . Good guy again has a few more Ls engines in his garage with other nice sh*t. 5.3 is gone, stopped by Macdonalds still 9hrs from home. Nice road trip.

Funniest thing the engines pretty much spec’ed did that around 6 yrs ago if I ever where to get a big bore block. 4 inch crank or 4.125 is the only?

Who cares what people think. Real talk. Thanks again! For the big bore project.
Got in touch with FRH about seeing which port program we could use with the spare head. Spoke with Martin and said he’d talk to Chris..told Martin to refer to me as the guy who had Chris Bennett verify everything and send numerous customers. Just gotta find time. It’s something cheap enough to do as I’ve got other irons in the fire. But $1800 for Ls7 heads is a fact. We talked $ might be cheaper with my references....may see if a 2.230 - 2.250 valve fits on GP. Port work is only $1100 just gotta find a program the heads like and I like. When I find time I’ll have Jim send the spare to see.

Well we got everything crossed out as far as build cost. Martin said Chris would do a set and create a new Cnc program @ the same cost $1150. As I said I’ve got other irons in the fire. Gotta go out to the garage and port match a new Moroso 1 inch spacer. They say that the CID intake has more plenum with better runner sight to heads. I can believe that, Ok I’ll add more plenum. I really like the CID intake for my other set of heads but @ $1k for the efi version.... it’s out. I ported the intake I have now being a EFI 4500 Super Vic. BTR sold out of Super Vic efi 4500 Ls7 intakes, Figure Jegs is 5 bucks more at $529. And repeat the process with another spacer and intake for the small bore Ls7 heads. May break down the 5.3 later this evening....... 2-3 am is perfect.

Turned a extra room 12x14 in the House from man cage to port and man cage with 48in flat screen. Port the intake in the heat for What? Had a drink earlier or Shots and got back and set the room up. It was set all ready just added a desk. Too Many people in the H moving around and on a Saturday. Port in the AC. It’s like mid 90’s with the humidity factor in the H.
