Stock SS wheels. Best brakes?

Heres my setup. They are great brakes and offer a lot of pad options. Stock corvette c7 calipers and rotors. The rotor hub bore and offset is correct for the ls1 fbody. Only thing needed was to bore hub mounting holes to 14mm/9/16'' to accept the new brembo calipers - also required on other setups. Cadillac ats 4 piston brembos are identical to the base JL9 calipers on the c7 corvette and can be found cheap new stock. I would love to see someone do the c7 z51 calipers with the 345mm rotor and believe this will fit. They are the same 4 piston brembos with longer mounting ears and could be found used for a decent price.
- For my stock zr1s I am running the arp studs with a 12mm/.5'' spacer and there is plenty of clearance.
I can only assume with the clearance that any 17'' wheel with .5'' more backspacing than zr1s will fit right up. These brakes perform great on the street and road course. They are matching parts - calipers and rotors. No need for washers or hub boring.

17x9 with 50mm offset = 6.97 backspacing
17x9.5 with 49mm offset =7.18 backspacing

People don't like carbotech or hawks as much because these have just as good of stopping power with much less dust.

There wasn't enough information for me online on rotor offset dimensions at the time. I ordered cheap pads just for mockup and return. There is another advantage to this setup no one mentioned yet.... and that is pad changout.... no need to remove the caliper to change pads anymore.
I will be using better pads on the track and the bosch or similar on the street.

They are the stock chrome slp zr1s that came on the car. Not sure on the offset. Fitment for them is confirmed with my parts list
these need spacers and longer studs but only 1/2''. please see the parts list.
Just needed to know if they were stock slip zr1s. Based on that, they should fit my racestars also.

Kinda late to the party here oh well. I did the 1 gen cts v brake swap on my 2002 camaro (following the thread on how to make them fit on 17in wheels) with stock 10 spoke ss wheels and it was kind of a nightmare. I had 1/4 wheel spacers and longer wheel studs and i still had to grind the living **** out of the calipers to fit. They seem to work tho but it would be nice to replace the calipers with the atv ones.
do you guys know if the ats calipers will work with c6 z06 rotors? It seems like they would. also I'm assuming I definitely need to get 1/2 in wheel spacers.

The power stop Z26's appear to be where it's at. Part number for the 2015 LS7 non ZL1 is Z261001. These should fit the 1722586/87 calipers setup being discussed.

There are pics of multiple guys who've installed them in this thread. The core charge has always been there for Centric and refurbished calipers. If you buy new AC Delco, which are real Brembo's if the car came with Brembo's, there shouldn't be a core charge. I don't think brand new OEM ATS Brembo's are on Rock Auto now, may have to go to another vendor.

I don't relishing raining on the parade after so much work was done to get the brakes to fit inside SS wheels, but I'm mentioning this out of safety concerns: try to imagine what will happen if...
The largest brakes I've seen safely fit inside 17" SS wheels is 13.4, on a second gen (mine) and that was only because 2 inch spacers placed the narrow part of the wheel's barrel outboard of the caliper. Otherwise, I'd stick with the 12.7" rotors.
If you are doing cruise/show primarily, then super tight clearances aren't as much of an issue. But DD or competition use, I'd consider going with bigger wheels or smaller brakes.
- A pebble gets between the caliper and the wheel
- A balancing weight comes off
- You hit something hard enough to cause the wheel to deflect a little (even temporarily)

I agree with 1981TA when it comes to grinding 1st gen CTS-V Brembo's to fit inside 17" wheels. But when it comes to the ATS Brembo's that has mainly been talked about in this thread that use a smaller rotor and caliper, from the photos I've seen on the previous pages, it looks like there is more than enough room with 17's to be safe with
