No. It was my scrap heap buildup (described in the prior post) that I gathered parts for about four years ago and challenged myself to be as cheap as possible. Broke it in on my run stand but could NOT sell it for 1800 or even 1600. After about a year of sitting on it I gave it away for 1400; bout 75 or a Hundred more than I had into it. So this buddy of mine who already owns a 71 GTO that has my old 502 BBC in it wanted to resurrect his high school third gen. Whallah. With an HEI distributor a 700 DP Holley and 1-5/8” headers with flow crapper single exhaust. It runs well. He loves it. He also bought an 800 dollar 350 from me for an 84 MCSS and that Katech headed LS1 I just did that build thread on
That engine is now going into his 1997 thirtieth Camaro. White w/orange stripes. M6 car too

Ran a set of the L98 (14101083) castings on a restricted stock car engine I built about five years ago. 364"/10.8:1/.500" lift flat tappet solid/Vic Jr./750
Un-ported (rules) and opened up for 2.02"/1.60" valves with a throat hog
worked well but never had them flowed
Only negative is they're lightweight castings which when coupled with the siamese bore block......well....U kno....
It either those or some Estreets. I think keeping the budget down makes it all the better.

it actually has a 750 dp Holley, 1 3/4 hooker long tubes, and a single 4” mufflex exhaust with a spintech muffler. 3000 rpm tci converter, th350 trans, and if I remember correctly 3:42 rear gear.

I still have yet to bring you a motor, you keep building what I need before I have a chance!

Yeah that’s all junk. Edelbrock carb, flow tech shorty headers, and a summit brand exhaust. Still runs perfect though and will spin one wheel really well through the open rear haha

The worst cylinder

Different view<br/>

Forty over or 1mm would have done it but who cares. It’s been saved from death and will now most likely get a few atmospheres of pressurized ****

Thanks man...gotta chuckle outta your response for sure
Future owner jokingly called it "The Turd"....cause he plans to feed this thing with 20-plus pounds of Borg Warner nasty....he's been dying to get back to a boosted combo since him AND his wife drove EIGHT second turbo and supercharged street bikes....
Silly fella indeed.....
BTW Leroy Brown was BAD BAD.......IIRC....

This is our reworked junkyard 5.3L we nicknamed "Quagmire", I just clear-coated right over the rust and oxidization... and then made some lavender valve covers to hide that ugly as well. Oh, that ugly unwanted paint is on sale? Perfect.

We should hang out and paint stuff some time.
