Rain finally stopped just long enough to go to the track. Not setting any records, just wanted the freedom and adrenaline of going down the track. Left just over idle and rolled into it, reason being....I wanted to drive it home even if being easy on it slows me down by a good margin. One of the local street scene guys invited me to get a bus or two put on me, I told him I'm always down. It is him here in the vid, car is definitely fast as you can see. That's me next to him.
Thanks guys, had a blast today, even with taking the L. Guy in the 240 is actually a pretty cool dude, his lady covers all of the local street racing (502 streets on youtube) go check it out. I thought about trying to make another hit and lean on the car a little harder, but decided to call it good enough, and just be glad to not have to call a wrecker this time. This was the first hit of the day. As it's looking, the car isn't going to trap any higher until I'm in a position to start using the transbrake and leave in boost.
It's been needing to go for a few years now. Just can't find it in the budget to drop a couple thousand to finish out the drivetrain. Too many irons in the fire, vacations...home audio... but not enough greenbacks. The car kinda takes a backseat. Maybe I will slowly do the 8.8/10 bolt tube deal at some point, I dunno.
why not try footbraking it i picked up like 10mph and over a second just from leaving at 1800 to leaving at 3600 still leaving on 0psi and its not hard on parts either sense theres no shock like there would be from a transbrake
The ford 8.8 is a strong rear end and you can build one for cheap. You can build one for under $400 I have like $300 in mine.
I now wish I had kept my spare 10 bolt housing, could slowly build a new 8.8 unit.... but I threw it away. I keep going back and forth, but the way its looking.... it may be the route to go.

I tried that at SCT last year, didn't go very well. Made next to nothing boost wise, but matted it out the gate. Here is the result. The car should be around 118-120 in the 8th, and one day it will, when I start leaving In boost.
Nice mph! You got another couple tenths in it before the 10 bolt goes boom. They will 1.5x assuming you're not leaving off the transbrake. Just foot brake that stuff.

To tell you the truth, I'm so paranoid that I'm scared to even foot brake it too much. After what happened last year, I won't do anymore than a 1500 rpm roll on. Im thinking money wise, I'm going to slowly build an 8.8, and see how that goes. One of the reasons I'm paranoid (aside from being stranded) is it's an automatic transmission rehab when something breaks.... and I don't really care to pull it again anytime soon .
