Swap LS7 Into SBC- Sort Of Hi Folks,
The GTR is designed for an SBC, but it's getting an LS7; thus, the swap. The questions I have are of a general nature regarding the LSx engine.
a) Is there a rear motor mount? If not, what holds the engine up at the back?
b) Is there a specific length from the center of the (SBC) mount to the back of the bell housing flange? With the LS7 test fit, it is just about 12.5".

There is no rear engine mount. Generally the rear of the engine bolts to the transmission and the transmission is supported at the tailhousing.

They don't really make model changes...minor updates to components along the way, though. The design was released in the early 90s, but still a very effective combination due to flexibility with drive train components.
