Bridge Port the T B
Today I bridged ported my LS1 throttle body and Hacked away the two aluminum bridges in the MAF unit belows. When I was taking the little screen out it got bent out of shape, but after the job was done I managed to put it back in there, it didn't look to bad!!! I took out the PVC valve on the side of the throttle body and looked inside the hole. I Noticed, besides the oil residue, what it look like some drilling that had been started and then stopped, leaving a Mark. So I said to myself why not, they don't called me LoCoLoCo for nothing??? I got a 24/64 size bit and drilling away and finishing what GM had started for some reason. I portted the throttle body as well and put everything together. Now I took the Beast out and drove it hard. I immediately noticed that at lunching it feels harder and saw an increased of 10 MPH from 2nd to 3rd. The only MODS that I have are K&N filter, a cut on the bottom of the air box to increase air flow and TB coolant by-pass. I would like to take it to a DYNO and see if these MODS did anything for it. The only thing that I noticed besides the harder luch, was a spark plug pinging between 5000-6200 RPM's The Car is factory with an A4, 273 rear, steel drive shaft and 255/50ZR16 on the back. What do you guys think could we call this one Brige Portting TB??? I know for a fact the the heads through the valve covers are giong to be having more air going through them within the system. Or more slush in the intakeplenum down to pistons faul spark plugs and carbon deposites in the valve exhaust ports OOOOHHHH My Poor Zeta.
So you ported the throttle body? And what PVC valve on the side of the throttle body? Do you mean the IAC motor? Did you take out the motor and drill a hole straight through to the rest of the chambers inside the TB?
Yeah that's it I took it out and drilled to the next chamber which is the one where that pipe is attached to, tou know the one that comes from the valve covers.
I Know that from reading your Forums in this web site. What happened was that I am a little bit inpatient and I tug out to hard on the screen and bendid out of shape. Until I get another one I placed that one back inn.
Pulling the screen almost never has any adverse effects, it must have been something esle that you did. Just leave the screen out.

As for drilling that hole, It really did nothing for performance. The hole is for the IAC motor so it can adjust your idle, and the other chamber is for the hose to get some air from the TB.

Mr. Loco- You basically just screwed up your MAF. You should've bought a Bauer TB and been done with it.
