Default 8.9s NA or Bust

So I haven't posted on here in a while but with all this Corona Virus crap going on now is a great time to start a new build thread. This thread will be picture heavy and long, I will update it when I can.

Just to give a little back story I had a 95z, I know ewwww LT1 lol but my dad had ordered the car new so the car had a lot of sentimental value. Over the years we had a built 355, 8.8 swapped it and cleaned it up, the car was a nice driver. But in february of last year it met its end due to someone pulling out in front of me. I was sad to see the car end like this but from the amount we got back from insurance and parting the car out it doesn't owe me anything. The goal with the new car is to run 8.9s or faster na, I will also be using it to promote my shop, so car shows and running events. I would love to be at this years Holley LS Fest, if there even is one....

So this is where the new car comes along, I made some calls after the accident to have the car towed back to my shop, the driver was like man we have a car that looks just like this and the owner of the towing company is trying to sell. After a few weeks going back and forth we made a deal, 2001 SS Camaro the car was a t56 but was swapped to a turbo400 and a LQ9 on spray. They were using the car to grudge race down in Miami and they hurt the motor and the car sat for a couple of months. The car came to me as a roller and I was to give the MWC 9" back because he wanted too much, I already had the 8.8.

Is it going to take a SB2 style head to get you there?

SB2 technology isn’t anywhere near as good as what’s available for the LS platform. Two completely different types of heads that won’t interchange.

isn’t a Mozez Canted Valve Head in the style of a SB2 Head ? I am thinking about The fastest NA C5 that running Mozez heads with 450 cid @1 miles events. And the fastest stick shift C6 with the 508 with Mozez heads running 8.90 somewhere in the Middle East. That said good luck getting there .
Race Flow Development sale a LS R canted Valve for ls
and Dart make one
it was a ?
key word was style head

You are correct. The Mozez Head is a canted valve head, much like the sb2 style head was. In the case of the OP’s setup here, I don’t think he will need a canted valve head to get there. There are some awfully good inline heads on the market today. 800 whp is achievable today with an in-line head and correct camshaft/valvetrain setup.

Here’s a little inspiration from Texas...
NA stock block LS3 by the way enjoy...

Is the first time ever we get to save the planet by sitting around and doing nothing but messing with our car let’s not screw this up!

They been tight leaps about how it was done except for what was shown under the hood which by the way was a lot no accessory belt so electric water pump no ac no ps no alternator which tells me they are using 16 bolts lithium battery Holley high ram and their small bore ls7 heads the big question is the cam probably a .050 duration of 258/268 if I had to guess.
Other than that they are using a turbo 400 the stall is IMO 6k rpms off the dig my ears ring at about 9k rpms out the back end so like 3.73 diff is my guess, it would be a fun build to replicate for real.
