Lifter choice with F14 highlift

Lifter choice with F14 highlift Well, looks like I need lifters. She started tapping today, then went away. Anyone know of why I would want the Comp lifters over the LS7 lifters? I haven't seen much on the LS7's, they're $129 and the Comps are $179.
Id run the LS7 lifters out of the Comp and them. The LS7 are made for high RPMs and there cheaper than the Morels. But if I ever have to have lifters Im going to more than likely run Morels but the LS7 are cheaper and I definately will keep them in mind esp since I dont have a lot of money.

The Caddy lifters work great for me. Just a note, I work at a Chevy Dealer in service and when looking up the part number for the LS7 lifter, its the same part number for the 2006 up 4.8,5.3, and 6.0.

Mine has a whopping 41,000 miles on it. I won't be spinning over 6600. Saw them at SD for $107. The CTS-V racing ones say lightweight internals. I wonder if there'd be any real gain from those vs the LS7's.

Stock lifters will be fine for that cam. I've built two setups with similar lift cams on stock lifters. If you're really worried about it, just get yourself a fresh set of GM lifters for the newer GEN III engines.

I'm looking to run the Trex cam which is 242/248 .608/.612 110lsa What do you guys think about lifters. I was thinking about the comp R's??

Personally, if u have the money get morels. If I had to use anthing else I would stick with stock gm lifters for below.640 lift and 7k rpms. If it is a race engine morels are a must.

Now it isn't making a peep, hopefully I have amnesty for a while. It only made the tapping noise for about 10 seconds, once I got the rpms down, it quit and hasn't done it at my friends' shop since.
The stock replacement lifters tend to go bad. I would spend the extra money and go with the Comp "R" lifters. I have used these in 3 other motors besides my own and never had a problem. I shift mine at 6800.
Hands down Morels are the best hyd. lifters on the market. The main downfall is the price, they are almost double the price of all the others. Most of the OEM style lifters (comp, crane, melling, LS7, caddy racing) are usually good up to 7000 rpms. After 7000 I would highly recommend going to something like the Morel.
