Default 9 Second Wheels Up Runs updated 12/11/10

Updated in post #14 results from SGMP in GA.

We went to Beech Bend in Bowling Green, KY Saturday November 20, 2010 and had a very good time. I enjoyed meeting some of the members on the board as well!

1st pass off the trailer was a shake down pass, I ran a 10.774 ET at 124.34 MPH with a 1.444 60 foot in the right lane at 1:15 PM.

2nd pass after some suspension adjustments I ran a 10.628 ET at 125.20 MPH with a 1.408 60 foot right lane at 2:45 PM.

3rd pass coming right back to the staging lanes ran a 10.677 ET at 125.08 MPH with a 1.444 60 foot left lane at 2:53 PM.

Then I put the 125 HP Nitrous tune in the car and the jets and had some big time wheels up action!

4th pass I adjusted the suspension for the nitrous setup and went 9.953 ET at 133.12 MPH with 1.332 60 foot right lane at 3:55 PM. Video attached! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0Hr-wRzOl4

5th pass I tightened the front shocks two more clicks and went 9.964 ET at 132.91 MPH with a 1.427 60 foot right lane at 4:26 PM. Video attached! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IraZB7u9-IY The most interesting number is the 1.427 60 foot time because that appears to be on the back tire instead of the front tire!!

Enjoy the videos!

I forgot to mention the DA was somewhere between +1,100 to +1,300 feet.

Nice runs looks like you have the suspension hooking the car bigtime. I'm looking for solid 8's next year so I'm going through my suspension over the winter to hook and launch straight. I'm overpowering my rear sway bar so it's time for a drag bar. Although I drive this thing on the street when it's nice out. Back and forth to work or a cruise or car show.

You guys are running strong! My little ole 346 likes high 9's just fine! I would like to see one of those low 8 second videos. Is it a LSX engine?

Even with the limiters only allowing 3 inches of travel and the shocks tightened 4 clicks it still wanted to show off! I think I have it figured out now looking for some .80's next time out!

Take a look at the timeslips and let me know what you think!!

Is that a forged 346? Or stock bottom end car? I may have missed something in your other posts in the 10 sec section. I figured I would just ask. That is damn impressive great times! Our cars a so much alike all Spohn suspension to rear. Does you car still have the 3.70's in it? My car the best 60ft was a 1.51 on motor. I figured it was from the 3.70's. Its real lazy 60. Im gonna it hit it with a 150 shot and hope to be where your at. Thanks for posting!

The engine was built using a new 346 CI block with forged internals and a very mild cam, 11 to 1 compression, with AFR heads and FAST intake as a pump gas engine setup for NA racing. The car does have 4.11 gears I changed out the 3.70's when I decided to go with 28 inch tires and try to see what it would do on a small shot of nitrous. I would say that you car would run good changing out to a 4.11 gear to help it sixty foot better!

Good luck on your trip and the use of the 150 shot of nitrous!

Thanks, Badhawk this car and engine combo has been a lot of hard work and so much fun! I am really proud of how well it is performing.

Thanks JR and you are correct the 1.33 60 foot is getting it done. Heck a lot of folks would kill for the 1.42 60 foot!
I loved it as well just would rather it not go so high in the air.

The car is working very well I think I have it adjusted better now! It is setting at just a little over 3,310 pounds going down the track!

I got the bottle refilled and it only used 3 lbs. of Nitrous for 3 - 1/8 mile 75 HP nitrous runs and 2 - 1/4 mile 125 HP nitrous runs. Seems pretty cost effective! Hopefully we can sneak it into the 9.8's with the same jets!

Wish me luck! I will keep everyone posted!

Here are the results from Saturday 12/11/10!

I did not get into the 80's but it was sure fun trying for it!! The car produced several new PB on 125 HP dry nitrous shot with a DA of around +1,200. We had a very good trip for our last one of 2010. No doubt with a - DA it would run in the 80's on the 125 HP jets!

Now it is time to update my sig!

Enjoy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxuJjpjNOW4

Up ur nitrous shot to a 200-250 wit a nitrous progressor, or put a second kit on your car. And get that suspention adj. by a pro and get some mid - low 9's out of that monster! ! ! ! now thats a well oiled ls1

Dam, 1.28 60' is rollin for that brick. Right on. I bet if felt good coming off the line.

I am starting with a 125hp shot on my car next season and if it knocks down .500 I will be stoked. And if I can get high 1.2 60's I will be pleased. But I weigh 2850lbs with driver.

Thanks for the props and please do not take this wrong but I could pay someone to work on my car and I could hire someone to drive it as well! Where is the fun in that?

I enjoy doing all of the adjusting myself and I guess I am not doing to bad considering out of 50 cars on the stock cube nitrous list only one other car had a quicker 60 foot time then my car just produced. I also noticed on the fast nitrous list which I assume is any cubic inch engine my little 346 CI just produced the 6th fastest 60 foot time on a list of 33 pretty fast cars. We all know the first 60 foot is the most important part of getting a car to perform!

Now I have already been looking into a progressive controller and that will more than likely be my next purchase! The one thing I have learned is it only takes more money to car faster and faster so I am very happy with how the car is doing considering the amount of money I have invested. Now time is a whole different story. But then again it is what I enjoy doing as a hobby and will just keep taking baby steps!!

Thanks JRacing, I think you car is going to do great! Man if I could get down to your race weight that would be 460 lbs. lighter wow the Formula would be moving out then for sure!

I am very pleased with how it performed! Thanks again for the props!
