You mean in my car, or with an LSX T56 and 3.73's? Define "spin the ****". My car can spin to 8k. I cross the 1/4 mile with plenty left in 4th gear on a 26" tall tire, as you can see here.

That's pretty much what I figured. Most transmissions dedicate 4th gear to the 1:1 ratio. For that reason, I don't understand why it is so hard for you guys to get into the 9's on a T56.

8k rpm is a lot of rpm you will be able to get through w that rpm id imagine. i know i had to swap to a 28 and a 3.73 gear to get through the traps under power but i shift at 6700

The biggest obsacle is finding a track that will allow the car to hook and the suspension to work the way its suppose to. Manual trans cars are a lot less forgiving to track conditions, especially on a 10" tire. One of three things has to happen on the launch with a manual. Tire spin, clutch slip, or something breaks. When you drop the clutch at 5000 rpm. The tires are trying to go from 0 to 40 instantly. Its not that hard to be a full second or more off your normal time on a slippery track where as the automatic guys hardly notice. If your local track is always good consider yourself lucky because the track where I live usually provides less traction than the street that I live on.

Are you running double rod ends on everything? I am about to order my T/A, LCA's, PHB and drag sway and it has been recommended to go all rod ends for no binding. I am planning to go with Spohn over BMR or UMI strictly because of cost. I have not read a single argument for going with one brand over another.

When you say you swapped to 3.73s that was for the N20 right? What did that do to the car NA??

Right now I'm 4.56s and 28'' and planned to go back to 4.10's for the N20 I should be crossing the traps @ 6500 since thats where I'm shifting.

mine are all poly bushings. the car was a daily driver so i wanted it to ride nice and quiet. forgot to mention i have the spohn 1" rear sway bar with poly end links. nothing fancy under my car.

yes i had 4.10's and couldnt get through the traps on the spray under power. wasnt enough rpm in my motor. i was going through over 7200 and it quits making power at 6400. they worked great on the motor though. only thing that suffered was my 60 on motor went down a little since my car is 3900lbs with me in it it liked the extra gear out of the gate. on nitrous there was no loss at all.

Sweet spreadable Christ on a cracker these cars are heavy! I was told about 7 years ago that one of the guys on a forum I visited had his LS1 Z28 that weighed 2,800lbs. I had a hard time believing it, but couldn't argue with my lack of knowledge on the subject. Seems a little more unlikely now, unless you weigh around 1000 lbs or so.

It can be done.My full interior street legal C5Z has made several upper 9 sec passes and weighs nearly 3500lbs. The right clutch, good track prep,TIRES and PRACTICE ! It takes a perfect launch/setup to get these cars in the nines, its MUCH tougher than it seems.Oh,and this was done at +4500 altitude,DA is regularly +7500 or worse when we race !

get your 60 foot down and you will get there! A few years back I had a stock bottom end 1999 Pewter Formula my daily driver I would drive 2 1/2 hours over to BMP put some slicks on the back @ the track and it would run high 9's on bottle and 10's on motor. Car would cut 1.33-1.35 60's @ BMP ! Stock bottom end, GTP Heads,F11 FMS cam, Mike Norris Tune!, Home made Nitrous 2 stage set up, Stock T56, Twin Disk Mcleod, BMR everything set up by Mike Norris! , Aerospace brakes all 4 corners,Leather seats,A/C! 6pt moly cage for safety! Car weighed 3090 W/O Driver I was 170 Race weight 3260. Damn I miss that car !!!

2800lbs I dont think would be hard for a no t-top car. I took my A/C compressor off a few times from my old formula and stripped the leather for a Kirky seat and got the car down in the 2900's. I could have went light weight glass and stripped the A/C box and delete the cage and stripped all the xtra wiring under the dash and taken out the factory door bars and I tink the car would have been really low 2800's if not maybe in the 2700's ... But it was my daily driver so I didnt want to go that crazy..

Did you by chance sell it to a guy in PA? It fits the description of my car and when i got it, the name on the title was Miguel IIRC from FL. Crazy!

https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...peed-list.html

if it was easy the list would be a lot longer

6 speed cars are most likely street or 'trying to stay' street cars. so they are heavy like ls2bait shows.. and that makes for an inconsistant car and can break ****.

i believe my best m6 pass is 7 years old?? geeez where does the time go?
