anyone with a 4l60e?
all i have to say is i had an art carr the one they rated at 850hp at the flywheel and i was making 390rwhp and it popped so i wouldnt recomend an art carr. if you can find someone to build it for you probuilt automatic has a good kit its www.700r4l60e.com i just had mine built with there kit and i cant say weather i like it or not yet but it should deffinatly last alot longer and more efficiant. one of my buddies has a kit from probuilt and seems to like it alot!!! he rates his kits right at 675rwhp
I run a 4l60e that i built, car is a DailyDriver 3680 pounds and has been 9.80 in the 1/4 with problems I'm sure the car will run well below the 9.50's due to its 1/8 mile times of 6.0's, My car hasnt seen the 1/4 but 2-3 times but anyway in the last 2.5 years i have had 5 tranny failures, 2 of them broke the foward sprag due to a 10bolt going south that was before i bought the 12bolt If i would have had the 12 bolt that would not have happened that was just over 2 years ago, As my power level where in creasing i started playing with line pressure's and broke two pumps That was my fault but i freshened it up after putting the last pump in almost 8,000 street miles and well over 100 passes spraying through the shifts I swisted a output shaft in half when i toor it down to fix it, it had MINIMAL clutch wear the 3rd pack was installed at.018 it had .029
Out of 5 times it only had 1 real failure the output shaft, in less than a month i will be throwing well over 800rwhp through my 4l60e I'll let you know how it works out
