Default 8 second third gen

Hello everyone. I guess I'm a newb again. Here's my ride. It's an 85 camaro I have had since I was 16. It started life as a 2.8 v6 car. Over the past 11 years it has transformed first to an 11 second car and now runs high 8's. My first 9 second pass was made with a pump gas 434 on a 175 shot. It went 9.79 @ 139. The current motor still uses most of the parts from that motor with a little more compression and cam. It now has run a best of 9.84 @ 139 on motor and 8.85 @ 154 on the bottle. All runs were made on m/t drag radials. The car is still street driven and weighs in at 3360 pounds with me in it. Here's a few pics and a video of a pass in the 8.90's. I'll post up a few time slips when I get home from work.

I run a 3rd gen as well into the 8's. I have just changed over to the 295-65-15 MT drag radials for this season from 29.5-10.5-15 ET drags. Can you give me any pointers on how to set the chassis up? See our myspace page for pics and video.

I would be happy to help in any way I can. Have you run on the radials at all yet? PM me with some general information about your setup and I'll give you some suggestions. I just recently switched from a 275/60 to the 295/65 and I'm currently having some wheelstand issues. I had the car on the bumper this past saturday. Definetly plenty of traction.

Chassis is 3320 with me in it, rear springs are out of a V6 car, HAL 12 way shocks, BMR swaybar, Competition ENG TA solid mount with -1.5 pinion angle. Front end is all PA, X-member, arms, rack, coil overs with 5 way struts, and front end limiters. 10point cage certified to 8.50's. Engine is a 421 ci with 2 stage NOS plate, 1050 dom. super vistor, Dart Pro 1's that are CNC'ed, 2.100 intake 1.625 exhaust, cam is just under .800, billet Oliver rods, GM block with billet caps in all 5 positions, block filler up to water pump. 14.7-1 comp. Art Carr T350 with 4100 stall.
60' times have been around 1.31-1.33 depending on track conditions. car leaves about a foot in the air and carries it about 20-30 ft.

I have been told that my car might go faster with the radials, but I am just wraping up the new motor and some wiring right now so I hope to have it out within a month or so.

Your setup is pretty similar to mine. What springs do you have on the front? How do you have the nitrous set up. How much do you spray and when?

I know alot of people who have picked up by switching to radials. I have been running them on my car since the bfg's were the only thing around. I've never had slicks on the car.

Let me know when you hit the track how it reacts and I can give you an idea what to try. Remember these tires like air pressure. I run 18-20 psi in mine.

The PA kit came with HAL 10-200 lb springs and my NOS activates right after I let go of the trans brake. First stage is 250 and the second is 150. This is the base settting for my plate kit and the car leaves hard enough on the first kit so I only plan on adjusting the second. Hope to go 8.60's before the snow flies.

Sounds good. I have 14-175 springs in the front of mine. Its the spohn coil over kit. I may end up going to a 200 down the road though. I also leave with the first stage right off the brake but I only have 150 in the first stage. I know the car will hold more I just haven't got around to testing it yet. I was planning on doing it last time out but put the car on the bumper the first pass which ended my day. I'm going saturday with hopes of getting into the 8.70's.

I have a stock tank with a sump. I was running 2 pumps in the back but I recently put a 1 gallon cell up front for the nitrous.

man, that gives me some killer motivation to finish up my project
3rd gen firebird.
if i could ask some ?? about your susp. setup.
i havea 89' bird that is a v6, 2.8 a4. i have a built turbo engine
370ci lsx 8.75 with twin 62-1 tnetics turbos for use with th400,4k stall,
i have these said parts, but i have not purchased any suspension parts till
i get some concrete info for a susp. that will hook and send me strait, also on dr's. the car is a hardtop
assuming u were building a stock car, what suspension pieces would u recommend , i have been looking at the pa racing kmember but im not sure about the a arms or coil overs, im still ill informed when it comes to susp.
i also plan on using the kit with crossmember from tci or b&m to use th400/350 on 3rd gen's would u recommend any other?
also using moser 9 in. rear end for use with tq arm.
any recommendations or advise? engine and trans will be capable of up to or over 1000hp. also will see street time.
sorry for all the q's
