I'm running a 400 shot on a built 502 solid roller setup. It's good for 1200 at the crank on pump the way she sits now.

E-85 is what you want reall, its still pump gas but like 108 octane.
E 85 is 105 octane.

The key is E-85's tendency to burn slower and longer. No detonation and you can run insane timing.

Yes, with E85, your tuning window is huge compared to 90% gasoline.

Alright Im back on the BBC bandwagon, I need 600+whp on motor and 800-850whp on the bottle. Ideas?? I think a 540 w/some AFRs and a healthy hr will do just fine. Do you guys think its worth it to go with a aftermarket block at these power levels?

on the subject of a bbc. i would do a 565ci bbc with a single 109 mm turbo . i started to go that way with my SS. but ended up selling everything off to finance my new motor/m6 swap. ill be back to the bbc thing soon enough.

Well, a 496 can make 60 RWHP, but a 540 will do it and be more street friendly, but if you went aftermarket, just got 565, it is the most you can get with the short deck and not screw up all the geometry for the headers, unless you get raised exhaust port heads, then you **** it up anyways.

Good, if you get a 540, you can go with 10 to 1 instead of maxing the compression, making it easier on the spray ad pump gas. Unless you want to bump to 11.5 to 1 with a separate tank with 116 race fuel that will inject with the nitrous(thatis what i will be doing).

Or run E-85 and have a lot more options.... Granted you have to buy a drum or so of it to get the right blend.

Its still pump gas and like 108 octane.

I doubt a 250 shot would not be a problem with a good tune if you ask me.

Well, with the race fuel in a separate tank, timing does not have to go back so far, making even more power. E85 is not bad, but not good, you have to use too much of it. It is 105 octane.

yeah that main disadvantage is the fuel usage, Alcohol burns at 8.7:1 stoich as opposed to 14.7:1 so you use about twice as much. Fun fact, Nitromethane burns at 2.1:1 iirc.

Yep, top fuel burns 4 gallons in a single 1/4 mile pass.
