Default My Budget BBC 4th Gen Project

Well I got this car.

And since I have acquired it. I have added the koni double adjustable struts. Ls1 front brakes. Ls1 steering rack. C6 Corvette wheels. 275 40 18 front 285 30 18 20 rear. Soon the 3.23 posi will be replaced with a 3.42 posi (which I know wont last long). I also got a 1995 T/A 6 speed for the car. And a 2004 vortec 8100 4 bolt main.

The Engine.

Camshaft specs Numbers are Camshaft Lift (in): .527 intake / .544 exhaust Camshaft Duration (@.050 in): 224° intake / 234° exhaust

This intake or something similar

Yup thats a c5 vette with a vortec 8.1

And yes coil per cylinder.

And 14" c6 Z06 vette cross drilled rotors and 6 piston calipers.

And a paint job

I also am modifying an LT1 accessory bracket so I can keep power steering and air conditioning. I will take pictures of that as well.

Should turn out really nice, but Budget and BBC don't belong in the same sentence

Sure they do. I paid nothing for the car. I paid 350 for the wheels and 100 for the tires. I paid 400 for the 6 speed with the flywheel I need for my 8100. 75 dollars for the cam. 300 for the intake with fuel rails and throttlebody. 600 for the complete long block

Is that the LT1 accessory bracket with all its accessories on a BBC? I had no idea you could throw them on there. Did you have to make any modifications for it to fit?

Edit: Just saw that you said that it was the LT1 bracket. More info please.

Well Jeremy, it depends on hw he drives it and what he uses. A stock clutch will help it live, not to mention Radials and the aggressiveness it is driven.

That's a really nice budget project. I haven't ever seen someone use the LT1 bracket on a big block.

Well no idea on the trani. It came out of a car that made a launch at pinks all out. It was in a 90 camaro behind a 383. The car went WAAAAAA and then boom and he coasted to the finish line. Its got a center force clutch and flywheel and a hurst shifter. So we will see. I have seen stock viper ones handle over a thousand at the wheels. But this is just a lowly 95 trans am trani so... (crosses fingers)

Viper trannys are completely different than f-body transmissions. I would say you might make one or two good passes before it snaps under that bbcs torque. I would highly recommend spending about 1000 and getting it built because you never know what else might break when it goes.

Depends on weight of the car, clutch and tires. The T56 can take a beating as long as the owner has never ground the gears and maintained it.
