Budget BBC heads worth buying?

I had heard of the 8.1's but never knew they were "LS" based......... with the flow numbers and HP numbers you can get out of the newer BBC stuff I fail to see the point?????? The above LS ports look like they would flow a lot less then say a typical BBC rectangular port..... It looks like someone just put a LS port on a BBC head......
