I’ll street / strip it. I only ever drive my toys when it’s nice out so not worried about the hvac/ wipers. I never use them on my firebird, so doesn’t bother me deleting them.
No surprise I’m over budget but here’s everything I’ve bought and sold to date. Shouldn’t need too much more. Some paint, fluids, etc. I do have a lot of parts and materials at my disposal so I haven’t included any of that stuff.

A $3500 budget would have been cool and all, but starting @ $2600 in car+donor engine (which is stupid-cheap), it doesn't take much for the bitty parts to add up. A $5k budget is equally impressive.
As unique as this project is, it's more important it gets built at this point, than worrying about running over a $3500 budget.
I’m waiting for my Milwaukee hackzall to show up from Amazon to finish cutting the right side cowl. I was able to do the middle and driver side with a grinder/ cutoff wheel. With some left over sheet metal I had from my old sierra hood I started to fab in some patch panels for the firewall. I tack welded them in, then hit them with some panel bond. I’ll prime them and paint them red when the firewall is all done.
Finished up tacking in the cowl/ firewall patches. I have to run out to Sherwin Williams to grab some bright red paint and more panel bond tomorrow. So here’s where progress is at.
I’m still waiting for my hvac block off plate so I can mount my fuse boxes and pcm behind the glove compartment. I think my electrical work is pretty much all taken care of at this point. I replaced my c230 connector with a metri pack 10 pin that I had from an old harness. I also found a female connector that fit the 220 connector. This way the stand alone can be 100% removed if I ever want to do so. I ran a new starter solenoid wire and a couple wires for the lt1 ect sensor. This one is only for use of the gauge. After I get the block off plate, I’ll get the engine bay cleaned up, preped and painted. Then it will be time to put the drivetrain in, hopefully for good
I was driving in the rain the other day and was quickly reminded that even tho I'm running without the optispark signal I'm still running with a distributor 2 feet off of the wet road. It was sputtering and wouldn't get over 2000rpm without a lot of hesitation.
