the good part about alcohol is it will make more torque. It takes more altitude change for the car to slow down, gasoline is about 200' change in DA for .01 and alcohol is around 600' change for .01. It costs about half as much as race gas. The bad part is you have to burn twice as much and it eats up your fuel system. With alcohol you have to change pumps/lines way more often than with gas. In the long run it probably costs more.

You dont have to change your lines ever if you maintain them..I have never had to change a single line just take care of them. When you done putting fuel through it,spray wd40 in your lines take your fittings off spray everything down, dont let fuel sit in the lines and it should be ok...

Could you just run gas thru the lines and pump after a race like have a seprate tank and just let it run a min to wash the alcohol out ???

Do you have to change the oil more often ??

Um, I think streetbad was referring to drinking and driving, not using it as a fuel. The cops usually don't take too kindly to anyone with an open container of alcohol in the car....
Running your car on it, though, is a different story.

Do a search on Ron's Racing. He markets a system dubbed "The Flying Toilet," it's a system that utilizes a 4 barrel manifold. It is a very simple system, that works very well. It would be a very good starter system, and works well as a blow-through setup.

alcohol also makes the car about 2-3 tenths quicker on average. As mentioned above, you have a little more to upkeep on your fuel system, and it will burn about 2 times as much as regular race fuel. It is deadly consistent though, as this is why a good number of super-class racers run it. They also make additives for better smell, as alcohol can burn the eyes (not as bad as nitro though).
