Default Stroking 355 to 383 weight

How much more weight will it gain 383 instead of 355? It matters, because it's going in the rx7 2nd gen.

Thanks.

The weight difference will be negligable. The only real change will be adding a longer stroke crank and a different piston.

Unless you're going from an ultralight crank to a stock crank that is.

Yea, there won't be enough weight difference to matter I wouldn't think.

Yes, in Mopar land both the 383 and 440 are big blocks.

The only difference is weight of cranks. The block will actually weigh a little less due to clearancing for the larger crank. It all kind of balances out. Theyve got to be within 5-10lbs of each other.

I agree, the rear counterweight is larger, but you grind a good amount out of the block. I couldn't imagine it being more then a couple of pounds. If you're using a nodular crank caheck out the Eagle the throws have lightening holes through the rod journals. I have pics of that crank in my 385 on my webshots page If the image doesn't show up here's the link. 95/98 Camaro Photo Album
