nope just like you said my idle was waaayyy to low hahahaha and brakes are all original from gm in 2002 the car only has 30k miles on it. im actualy suprised how well they work for the cams duration. i have no reserve can or anything aftermarket there either.. original booster setup to the carb.. Its made for some good debates between freinds why i did all that work and you didnt... hahaha i just tell em theres a sand trap at the end hahahahaha its on my mind i just really havent got to test them up to speed yet they dont hold the car still on the street at all burning tires so thats good grounds right there for me to go better

thanks again for all good feedback

hahaha may be a lil while for any new "good" updates hahahaha A guy im cool with came by to check it out We more less planed a good comparable grudge race and woul dhave made me a good coming out show. 03 mustang gt with a 460. were on same page so were open with shareing car deatils. i was gonna start it for him and motor spun over once and locked up queezed back thru carb.. i got a breaker bar spun it over about ten times easily.. tried starting it again same thing.. locked and queezed. drained oil.. no metal.. i pulled valve covers and perfect... i did see that the BS screen kit i put in the valley was mia.. so i figurged it got sucked up in cam. i pulled the motor yest. and tore it down today. i found screens intact hid behind the dist shaft. droped pan.. nothing bent broke or damaged,,,, pulled heads.. no bent valves.. im lost hahahahahaha the only thing ive noticed was coolant was getting into 2 cyls {{was leary of the MLS gaskets!!!}} there slight discolorations but the bores are still smooth as silk and the motor spins very freely no binding what soever!!!! Im kind of at a stump.. dont want to reseal and find have same problem....

my best educated guess was last time i ran it was joy ride.. maybe if enough coolant had accumalated in some cylinders could this have played with the combustion causing a detonation to come off as locking up?????? lost......

Water in the chlinders is BAD. Water DOES NOT compress. Make sure you don't have a cracked block or head and that the head gaskets are sealing.

With an electric water pump it will not pump water just by you turning the engine over allowing you to turn it over by hand. When you start it up again it would be then. Id say the problem is in that leak.

yea im going to choose to just go ahead and reseal it and fab up something to trap about 20psi or so in the water jacket and see if it bleeds down. if bleeds down ill tear it down completely and go to a machine shop and weigh some options... I found nothing wrong with any of the componenets just the discolred bores.. cant feel any inperfections. smooth as silk. well see what happens!!
maybe a week or so..

I have cometic mls gaskets also My builder "lightly" shaved my brand new afr (out of the box) heads. He said the surfaces need to be near perfect for a good seal with them. So far so good with about 10 passes on the motor, but I was also a little leary about the gaskets. He recomended them for my combo due to cr and the fact that I plan to dump 300 to 400 shot n2o. Good luck getting her back up and running, were anxious to see some track times on that baby

Take it all to a machine shop before you put it all back together and a good one.

A Supra buddy of mine has had his engine pulled and torn apart like 3 times now because he did not do it right the first time. Now he is after a bent crank, overheaded cams and oil starved engine that trashed all of the bearings and the 71mm Turbo.

Have it all looked and and have them check the deck and the deck on the heads and for cracks.

Cool car, sounds like a head gasket sealing problem. Hope everything goes well.

Hey all, My first time back on this site in almost 2 months!!!!! I got the intake sealed up with cometic gaskets and its all back in the car, I also went with regular fel pro headgaskets with copper rings.. no MLS this time. I was low on fuel last time i took it out b4 i tore it down so when i bumped the pump today i had just nuff to fill bowls. it fired right off but died. i went out and got paint for the hood today and ill probaly get some cam 2 and run it tomm. Its near same setup.. just added a trans blanket which made trans dipstick a royal PITA i wound up throwing it across the lawn b4 i got it thru in the right spot with out binding up. 5 point harness. i picked up a 12 point cage conversion but my motavation for that hit a wall.. maybe over winter.. oh and inland is building a 3 1/2" driveshaft with 1350s as of monday.. ill more or less have to wait for the driveshaft to come in b4 another drive.. it had a 1330 yoke b4 and last week i put a 1350 on the rear. My homemade dshaft was ofcourse the smaller 1330 yoke... so im back to running it but no drive. I have one track run in mind b4 are local track closes. wish my terd luck becasue my original goal was this years opening day

I beat it on it enuff b4 to be confident in a track pass. i just need that driveshaft and take it to go get allighned due to new k-member and its on. as of now the front tires are traking funny and wearing hard doesnt like holding WOT long either hahaha its quick to get loose in the *** end. walks down the crown in the road. i half to straddle center line to keep it straight wot 50mphplus or so
