keep the 383 cubes, but go up on compression ratio and put a nasty solid roller in it, then those heads will work better. it's a mis-matched combo and will make more useable power with a smaller head...

What is the highest i might be able to get away with on the 408 on 93 octane? 11.8 with a 108 LSA to bleed off some cylinder pressure? I am wondering what the 11 to 1 will be like with the 112 LSA in the 383, i am sure id be screwed if it was cast iron heads but the aluminum is still pushing it i think.

Yea, as i said, i bought the heads for the 408 in the near future, but i am sure the 383 wont care too much but it wont be perfect.

I want to but till i get the 95 Z done with a LS1 swap i dont wanna be daily driving a solid roller, i have a HUGE solid roller that would make the most outta theese heads but DAMN i couldnt make it idle for the street, i think the dual plane intake and the 2 1/2 Y pipe into 3 inch I will keep some better low end TQ till i swap to a 3 inch setup and a vic jr(pro products knock off prolly).
I cannot wait to see what it will dyno and run in the 1/4, i be a H/C LS1 will be no problem

Well, as i said, its what i have, i will deffinatly try to do a dyno and track comarison, i am just sure it is gona want the larger stuff to make the heads do what they were cast to do, i am just hoping for low 7s in the 1/8th before a intake and larger exhaust swap.

Yea, it was the only decently priced pistons i could find and i hadnt ordered rods before i ordered the pistons. I think this thing is going to see 6500 RPM easily witht he dual plane, i need to buy a chip for the MSD 6AL, i have so much more in this motor than the last one i am not going ot be surprised if i make 100 more HP than before, the old engine was held back by smaller heads, cam, headers and HEI vs the new engine will be full MSD ignition, i dont know if the T5 will live to tell this time around but i have said that before, stock clutches and radials go a long way
