We need more specs on the engine. 305, 350? What other mods? A cam swap is not recommended as the first mod for a stock engine. You'll want to upgrade the rest of the exhaust, and the heads, and the intake manifold first or at the same time.
Also, the off-the-shelf chips like H******** or J** suck for thirdgens. They only add a few more degrees of timing and turn the fans on sooner. Your best bet is to find someone who can do custom chip tuning on the car, not over the internet.

PCMforless and TPiS do custom PROM burning. Maybe even Jeremy Formato...
Good cam is anything that can help the weak *** intake.
A single pattern cam works well. Start by looking at what Comp or Crane designed for 87+ ECM equipped 350s. Something like a Comp XE 224/224 112 would work well with the 350.

Every single pattern cam I have thrown into Desktop Dyno has shown a power loss. I have no good experiences with them. And a 224/224 will require a custom chip tune to get it to idle. Also, any lift over .470" will require new springs and possibly machine work if you're using the stock heads. That's why I said its pointless to put a big cam on a stock TPI engine.

I knew a guy that had a 305 TPI 5 speed car, ported the intake and heads and threw in a LT1 hot cam (not the LT4).
It ran 13's all day long. He took me for a ride and it was a fun car!
If its a camaro though or a bird with an aftermarket hood then STEALTH RAM IS YOUR FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!

Miniram is way too expensive when you can get a StealthRam for half the price. They're really similar intakes. Also the ZZ9 is way too small for a Miniram, they like larger cams. Lastly, the LPE219 is 15 years old and outdated tech now. The Comp XFI268HR-113 is brand new and a much better camshaft.

i agree with the age of the design but you have to agree it will still work nicely...
the cc306 is just as old but it still is sold and many people are still installing them and running 11s..........i used it in the early 90s in one of my many TPI cars with great success

Let me introduce you to my engine then. With siamesed SLP runners, Trick Flow heads, and Lunati 226/232 camshaft, it makes 360 RWTQ at 5000 rpms, and 355 RWHP from 5300 to 5800 rpms. I dont know why the HP stops climbing at 5300, but its table-top flat up to 5800, where it then drops off. The red line is my engine with the siamesed runners. The blue line is my engine with a SuperRam.

I know a guy who swapped from a SuperRam to a MiniRam, and it went from 335 RWHP and 385 RWTQ, to 335 RWHP and 350 RWTQ. He probably didnt have enough camshaft to take advantage of the MiniRam. They like larger cams and higher RPM's.
