just blew up my 355, help me!
ok so i was racing my 89 camaro with a built 355 and 125 shot and it went low 11s but then my timing chain broke, i'm assuming i bent a few valves on the Performance RPM so i'm gonna fix it and sell it to my lil brother (noboostnogo)
whats better and what can handle more abuse on my new 383 project timing chain or noisy gears??

from what he told me, he was spraying a 125 shot off the line and hit the rev limiter in first by the time he shifted to 2nd it was too late!!
I actually think he used a high dollar timing chain for once.

hmm, did he have the limiter set too high? oh well he has another motor he is building on the side so he will be fine..... but is he building the motors himself? just cause you hit a revlimiter dont mean you normally blow a motor...... how many miles did the motor have?

Just get a new double roller timing chain. Cloyes makes a good product, I'm sure the Edelbrock piece is nice. I'm about to run my first gear drive timing set so I can't comment personally on how they sound or perform.
