Default need help sqeezing some more horses out of a 350

My gf has an 82 z28 with a 350. Eventually it will become a big block 6 speed but thats just not gonna happen quite yet. We are going to work on everything else first and worry about the motor later. That being said, how can i sqeeze some more horse power out of the 350. Its a stock jasper rebuild with stock exhaust manifolds etc. Plans are lts and 3" true duals so far, so we can keep from headers on for the big block.

I also want to get her a t56. Will one mount to the 350 and the big block? and will the shifter line-up right?

Thanks in advance for the help

A set of underdrive pulleys,Performer RPM Intake,MSD Ingnition,Bump timing. The 3" Exhaust will hurt a stock 350 it will have no back pressure.

the headers are 1 5/8 primaries and i will have high flow cats/ mufflers. The car needs an exhaust system and id rather not spend the money twice. What could i do to the motor to help it out with the big exhaust?

The 3 inch I pipe is not expensive from a exhaust shop, run that till you are ready for more motor.

For a small block to use 3' you would need a lot of compression or a x-pipe would help equalize the pressure.

The I pipe is for the exhaist, the F cars from 82-02 run a Y pipe into a single pipe (I) pipe. I see heads and cam LS1s put 400+ rwhp to the ground on a single I pipe srom a Y, so until you are ready for allot of power you can easily use a cheap setup till you are ready for the big stuff.
