Absolutely, a quick search turned up various kinds of tracks and even the home offices of Roy Hill Racing School. No excuse to do it in the street when you have access to track.

Depends where you are and what the point of the sting is. Most areas have laws about encouraging displays of speed or displays of unsafe driving. Here in NJ there is a ticket and fine associated with spectating, most people get out of it.

Way over the top, and if the cops witnessed it once and didn't do anything about it, the other counts are called ENTRAPMENT!

And if I happened to be near one of the other events that the state knew about, I'd be contacting Dewey, Cheatem, & Howe to sue on my behalf for the states reckless endangerment of me for allowing these dangerous acts to continue.

There's 2 eighth mile drag strips within 20-30 miles of highpoint (one of which is one of the best prepped drag strips on the east coast), a great quarter mile drag strip about an hour away (when the concord track opens to the public there, make it two), and one of the best road racing courses in the US also about an hour away.

I can understand some don't want to go to the track, but the fastest Eaton Cobra? I mean come on. How do you even get that title? I bet it entails going to the track.

That's not the smart thing to do. They can not make you pay the car off. You are better off taking a repo hit on your credit. The bank will then get the car back. The police CAN NOT keep it. A drug seizure is a little different but the bank can also get the car back. The smart thing to do would be contact the bank and let them know the police have the car. Tell the bank you are not going to be making the payments. The bank will then start the volunteer repo. The bank can and will get the police to release the car to them. Here is the sticky part, some police agencys will make the bank sign a document saying the car can not go back to the person it was taken from. If you have been making the payments and bring the loan up to date the bank can not legally keep the car from you. This can and has been done but all the impound laws need to be known for the best results. I am not saying street racing is right but this is BS!!

Default GTO Owner

I had court on the 26th. I got my GTO back. Thought I'd tell everyone. I still lost my license for a year, got a whopper of a fine, a year of supervised probation, and 200 hours of community service. I'm waiting for the court order to retrieve my goat. I hope it's not too messed up after 10 months of sitting...

damn that blows man, about getting all those fines, but atleast you get your car back. And I know high point is really bad i dont even drive when I have to go that way to see family. I know hickory is getting pretty bad now, all the little kids running around their and not paying attention and rear ended everybody, thats why I just go out and park and talk to people now.

Glad to hear you got your car back. The rest seems excessive.
