Memphis Motorsports Park?

Memphis Motorsports Park? not sure where to post this so figured i'd just stick it somewhere.. Anyways has anyone heard anything about it? Seems crazy to me that its just gonna up and close and NOBODY open it back up. Although the staff kinda sucked sometimes the facility itself seemed extremely nice for the area..?

I feel fairly confident that SOMEONE will buy it and open it back up. I have heard that the NHRA has pulled out, and some other big events have pulled out as well (The LSX shootout being one).....
But someone has got to open it back up for some weekend racing and TNT sessions.
It just seems crazy that such a large facility would sit there not being used.

Yeh thats exactly my point. Seems like such a waste, especially being as large and professional as it is. plus I dont wanna drive 5 hours to do some quarter-mile racing! by the way Jeff this is Will with the pewter T/A from Wynne. How bout "Spectacle Solutions Motorsports Park" lol that'd be good for business!

yeah that has a nice ring to it....but I dont have a cool 2.5 million laying around to buy it.
Thats the last rumor I heard anyway. not sure how accurate it is.

Lots of rumors flying around about it, I am on a site that had the announcer of MMP posting about it and he said he was as surprise as anyone. He said he went to work one day and they told him to pack up and sell stuff off. I have heard a lot of stories about Al Anabbi but I also heard that is prime real estate for a storage lot for containers but any way lots of rumors and soon as I hear more and the site is back up I will get yall a link on what the last words was said about it.

Its significantly more than $2.5M....According to some investors I know that were in negotiations recently.
I don't know if its gonna open back up or not. As large as the place is it would be hard to make $$$$ without having some ofthe large events. NHRA was gone after next season anyways (not because of ill feelings towards Memphis, they're cutting back just like everybody else). Having the circle track just sitting there is a $$$ drain too.
I HOPE it opens back up, but only time will tell....I think it may sit for another year, because (unless Dover is on a different fiscal than a calendar) it won't really hurt them for it to sit for awhile now....

I've heard from many people that the new price is 2.5mil since there is nothing there but the track. All the equipment, bleachers etc. are all gone and of course so are the races so whoever buys it has to rely on TNT and bracket racing to keep it afloat or have alot of money to loose till they can get some big races. Thats what I heard anyway. Maybe they will bring back the dirt track. Lots of fun Friday nights at the sold out races.

I hope this isnt true. Im not but about 80 miles from the track and usually make several trips there.
