Default Anybody in Huntsville, AL!

Is there anybody around Huntsville that could just do a base safe tune on my car so I can start it up and make sure everything working right? I have a STS Turbo which i can take one of the pipes out to drive with no big deal. My main thing is that I put 42# injectors in it and it smokes bad now and acouple guys told me not to crank it after i do the injector swap before i get a tune. Just looking for a safe tune nothing major.

Thanks,
Jimmy

dont run it with the 42# until somebody changes the injector flow rate. Now if you had a way to really lower the fuel pressure you'd be ok to drive to a tuner.

Lane Culver with Hinson Supercars can do it. He is who I would reccommend. His site is www.hinsonsupercars.com. They have a shop car that is an rx7 with a turbo LS1 that they used to compete in the Pump Gas Drags. So, needless to say, he knows what he is doing. He is located in Lacey Springs, right across the river. So you wouldn't have to go far.

I'm in Germany right now. I will be back in May-June. I don't know how to tune, but want to know where all of the F-body's are.

If your talking about huntsville. Just ride around there all over the place when it's nice outside. Mine is just a weekend car so it don't get out much but, mine actually hasn't seen day light in about 2 months been trying to get this damn thing together.

Gomer is the one that is gonna do the real tune on my car. I was just seeing if there was anybody on here that wanted to help me out and tune it for 42# injectors so I could atleast crank it and get everything working good.

Yeah, Gomer is definitely a good tuner. Lane is also good. Either way is a good choice. Gomer tuned both of my Camaros, and I was very pleased with what he did. Lane has done a little tuning for me in the past too, and he is very good at what he does. I am not sure how much experience Gomer has with FI cars. I am sure he has plenty, but Lane may have a little more since they do more FI setups.

Either way, very capable tuners. Either route will be a good one. Can't wait to see it on the road. PM me when you get the car right, I haven't ridden in an STS car yet. I would like to see how it feels if ya don't mind wasting a little gas.

If you were a v6 I could hook ya up.....haha

This may be a dumb idea, but why don't you put the stock
injectors back in until you can get a tune? Maybe then you
could at least crank it and let it idle without having to worry.

Just a thought. Glad its coming together for ya.

Nope not yet, going friday to get her done at arthur's shop in huntsville. Which is good I don't have to trailer all the way down to birmingham!!!! But, Gomer is also still doing the tune.

So, Gomer is coming up here to do the tune, or you are getting Art to baseline it then driving it to Gomer? I am guessing the first one.

Well, PM me when you are going on Friday. I would love to come by and see. Plus, I haven't seen Gomer in ages.
