This project has turned out to be some what of a job. I am now at 3 full days on the net finding the right parts, wiring, hp tuner software and OS systems to make this work. I hope the install will be smoother than the grunt work I have been going through. We are going to try to have the 80 ready for the EFI shootout at Centerville on 7\21\07. Shane's car ran a consistent 9.0. I am guessing it will run 8.30s or better with the new setup. Hopefully we can get the tune and the shift points down within a week to achieve this goal. Wish us luck.

Thanks I hope it's worth all the work and I am not disappointed. Should have parts at home when I get there.

OK, we started on Shane's car today. We are still waiting on the converter, cooler fittings and the trans cross member. We started will what we had to work with.

4L80 trans
Quick silver shifter
Lokar dip stick tube
Trans cooler
Flywheel
Wiring harness
Trans pan
Th400 yolk

We fabbed up a stainless steel panel to cover the shifter hole, modified the Quick silver shifter (shortened it 2 inches) and got it mounted to the panel we fabbed up. The shifter is in the 6 speed console (still looks like a 6 speed) with the stock shifter ****. We replaced the -56 yolk with a Strange TH400 yolk. Put a new flex plate on the engine. We went ahead and put a stock torque converter in the trans (due to the PYE Yank 3400 won't be here till Thursday) and bolted it up to the engine. Everything is going smooth so far

I have posted pics so you can see the progress. Right now the flywheel, transmission, torque converter, drive shaft, shifter, and console are installed in the car. We lack the cooler lines, cooler, tranny harness, dip stick, and trans cross member. We will later put in the torque converter (Thursday) when it comes in. We will put on the new tranny pan after all the mock up is finished.

We so far have about 6 hours in actual work on the car, tomorrow (Sunday)we should be able to get the tranny wiring, dip stick tube, and trans cooler done.

HP Tuners should have the new OS system ready for me to download first of the week

Tuesday we will be getting 4L80 cross member.
Hopefully then we will be able to get some tuning done.
Thursday we will pull out the trans and put in the yank converter.

Here you go guys

The reason is I cann't keep boost between gear changes and can't build boost taking off. So I really prefer M6 but if I am going to go after the record in EFI it would be nearly impossible to do. If I don't like it I will change back I still have everything. We are going with stock that's what Yank recomended.

A4 will definately keep the RPM's up, that 4L80E is a heavy Trans, it should do it. Nice work guys, how long before it up and runnin, who built the Tranny up?
I assume Yank recommended that Stall also..it seems small for the power you have in that Car. You trying to get it to hook off the line then have the rest spool up as you are comin out of the hole?
