Default Towing car.....truck squats pretty low

When I tow my car to the track on the trailer, my truck squats really low. Lower than it should I think. It's a 2000 ECSB Silverado with the 5.3. Pulls like a beast, but just squats lower than I think it should. I have the car about mid trailer to keep most of the weight off of the hitch. What do ya'll think I should do.

Suggestions:
A) Should I get helper springs
B) Air bags
C) trade it in on a 3/4 ton or 1 ton dually

Well, I think it's the trailer. My old car hauler loaded didn't do squat my truck like this one does loaded, so at first I thought maybe the springs were just getting bad. I'm thinking about the helper springs or the bags. Can't decide yet. Thanks for the responses.

You need to see what the tongue weight is on the trailer and you might have to move the axles accordingly to adjust it. We towed a car on a big tex trailer behind a ecsb 1999 1500 and it didn't squat hardly any at all.

Well, this trailer is my dad's and he has a 3/4 ton so he doesn't have this problem. I'll probably hit up my friend I sold mine to and see if I can buy it back from him since he doesn't use it.

Are they original shocks? If so, they've been on there 8+ years and are worn out.

get those airbags that you put in the springs they are fairly cheap and they can handle lot of load, my father in law has thyem in his silverado and he had that problem pulling his giant boat that should fix the problem...its called airlift and they have them on jegs or summit , ive had them they work good

If the shocks don't help some, then I'm probably gonna get the air bags since I can let the air out and the ride quality won't be affected. I think with the helper springs the ride will be really rough when unloaded. I'm gonna try some heavy duty shocks first and see how that goes. If not I can spare an extra $200 out of my performance funds to put the bags on.

Get yourself some Monroe air shocks for the rear. Should help out, and they're adjustable. Try that first.

Airide sells a helper bag kit for around 250. No compressor or any wiring. Just stop by an air compressor and fill the bags to the recommended PSI. Wont raise your ride height any at all and will help your rear from squatting. Firestone also sells a similar kit.

We can always work out some kind of trade. I'd rather have a metal floor myself.

Get a weight distributing hitch. Summit has them and with the sway controller it should be under 400. Once I put one on my suburban it was a night and day difference.

Yeah be cheap, it's your life. If you tow often, the weight distributing kit is the best thing. Makes the truck easier to drive, less wear tires and if it comes with a stabilizer then that's just more added safety.

Tongue weight and height should always be checked. That **** is the reason why some people have good luck with trailers and some don't.
