Yeah sounds bout right since there is less of a load and the motor with the stall. I got a tuner u can see, I got my boys hp tuners coming to me in a few weeks when he gets back fro Iraq all i need is a com cable and the wb.

well i think my idle might have finally relearned itself....didn't have any problems with it this morning....we'll see though...got on it for the first time since the stall this morning...i wasn't expecting a little more "punch" from that stall....but i can definately feel the difference in acceleration....can't wait to get that 12 sec. pass at the track....

okay, so I lied about my idle being right...it's still messed up...it was idling fine after driving home from PT this morning though...but now it's doing it's surging thing again...only not quite as bad as before...i found this config file though that should fix the problem. just need to do a log with the file and then paste it into my RAF table and I should be okay...been too busy lately to get a hold of Mark about his HP Tuners...

Mark came by the house yesterday and I told him you needed his tuning software. He said that you have his number. He went to court about his ticket today and he will not be back in town until monday.

Sorry guys! It is Jon btw, but ya between my fiance's fathers death, the upcoming wedding, and fall semester starting I have been busy to say the least. I will def. try and get out this weekend though! Although I may be installing my new countermeasures if the girl is not around. (No way I can tell her what I spent on it all)! haha Hope to see you guys this Friday.

I have not however I have seen plenty of wraps and yes it is the tubes all the way to flange. Why do you think you need to wrap? Not to say it doesn't help but I don't feel it is a must. I have my fans coming on early and never see over 195.

BTW I am Jon and drive the black CTS-V. What color is your Goat? I think I have seen an orange one around lately I never noticed before. What part of PC do you live in? I am over off of pierce road.

Be careful of cops on pierce road heading to get on state route 80. Its 45 PSL and they have been there the last two days....

I have heard some bad things about wraps. I would stay away from them on a daily driver. I heard they trap moisture and have a field day with the metal.

so i've been PM'ing Josh from Spartan Performance....he told me that he doesn't recommend the V2, says it's a highly overrated cam and he has had like 4-5 guys come to him to replace that cam because they weren't happy with it...he recommended a cam he has used before, a 224/232 on a 113 (waiting to find out the lift numbers). this cam **** is really getting frustrating....i really don't want a custom grind cam because i want something thats proven....not something that sounds good "in theory". And everyone has their opinion on which parts are the "best". I could care less on the numbers so long as the cam gets me my low 12's high 11's that i'm looking for, period. and all this **** about 98 PCM's is pissing me off.....okay, so it doesn't cover all the parameters the 99+'s do...but come on....if you're a tuner and know your **** that shouldn't matter....it might be harder to do but if it can be done then why bring up the fact the 98 PCM "isn't as good as the rest". i have combed threads for months now and have seen A LOT of 98 cars running good times....

I understand where you are coming from but Josh and a couple of guys on this thread will keep you from making mistakes and turn you onto the right stuff. Josh tuned cam cars back in the 90's with very primitive tuning tools and made good power. Dude knows his stuff, Sheik would be another guy to converse with, knowledgable dude for sure.

You want something that is proven? I ran a 7.8 at 91 first time at 1/8th mile with that cam on a slipping trans in 100 degree heat with a soft launch on my lil stall. You will be in the 11s with that cam. I love mine, and pretty good street wise too.

Oh and btw, you're an auto and a 98 car. It will never run right. LOL, calm down man. You'll get it, baby steps, my car's a 224/232 114 LSA .581/.595 pulls downright nasty. I love it.

It does matter. Tuners can't make parameters appear in the computer that aren't there. You can still make a 98 fast, it's the driveability that's different. 98 PCM's are slow, and don't have what is needed to make big cams run as good as the newer PCM's can. I'm sorry you're frustrated, but what I'm telling you is fact. Call any experienced tuner in the country, and they'll tell you the same thing. It seems like you have fallen deep into the internet hype of all these cams, which is exactly what the larger vendors marketing design is suppose to do.

As for "not proven" or "theory". I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have 15-20 guys jumping in threads every time somebody mentions my name saying how good my work is, if I was using unproven parts or building cars in theory.

FACT: None of my cars I spec dyno low or run slow at the track. My "theorized" 228/232 cam makes 415-425rwhp on stock heads every time. That 224/232 cam I mentioned has put several stock headed cars into the 11's.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...referrerid=183

FACT: I just designed a "theory" LS3 camshaft that picked up 10mph over an old camshaft setup on a G8. Here's the thread for reference....The thread is long, but the summary is: Car was running 13.0's @ 103 with a New Era
"internet" camshaft. With my camshaft/retune, the car ran 12.6 @ 112 in much hotter weather.
http://www.g8board.com/forums/showth...eferrerid=6787

FACT: You'll never hear about Spartan Performance blowing somebody's car up because he spec'd unproven parts. If somebody's car doesn't run well, it's usually because they supplied me the parts.

I speak the truth gentlemen. It's just not always what you want to hear. Especially if you're sold on the internet marketing hype. I try to lead everyone in the right direction so their money is well spent. Unfortunately there are horses that won't drink the water, no matter how many ponds you take them to.

Good day sirs.

Hey, Ron im not to knowledable when it comes to PCM's and tuning but have you ever thought about getting a PCM from a 04 gto or a 02 fboat? I think its east coast supercars that uses a ls1 pcm in thier 9 second ls2 goat, but then again I might be full of ****. I wanna wrap my headers but thier already jet hot coated, but I talked to shiek at the px today and Ill start by changing out my t-stat.

Also drivability is all about what your willing to put up with my cam is a .240/.244 .605/.598 with a 112lsa and I only have problems before it catches its idle.

Oh and my GTO is the Cyclone Grey Metallic with the chrome 18'' Bayern's on it. I live off Summerville RD.

You have to re-pin the harness to swap PCM's. It's not a simple R&R.
