Mike, what brand stuff you using, ie. kentucky turbo, modular turbo, etc? I was thinking about the kentucky turbo stuff or the va speed kit. I just haven't made up my mind in regards to tube headers or manifolds. I have heard that tube headers can crack because of the heat and stress that the turbo weight places on them.

from what ive seen most guys who go the header route end up having to fab up lots of extra bracing and support brackets to hold the weight of the turbos so they dont crack the headers all to ****. plus seems that a set of truck manifolds turned backwards would allow more room for changing plugs. not a turbo guru or anything just what ive seen in some photos and read about on forums.

we'll im currently using the hot side that spoolin performance offers, it comes with a truck manifold set up. i didnt really want to waste the money on some crappy turbo headers that last a couple thousand miles. the car is pretty much getting pieced together.
IF you check the FI section for my threads my build has been listed in it.

NO!! lol It's one place. Putnam County / Eatonton, GA aka Headhunters aka "the Putt Putt Bush Track"

Seriously...I'm not making this stuff up. lol

Anyway it's a little outlaw eigth mile track right on US HWY 441 about 20 miles north of Milledgeville. (Therefore the closest thing to me @ 26 miles. It's an old track that use to be a motorcycle track and has been redone a few times. It's pretty much run what ya brung. You WON'T get booted for lack of rollbar or anything else really. They usually do require a helmet and seatbelt, but helmets only if you are under 8.0's or so. Alot of gambling going on, etc. I have taken my kids there, but don't recommend it. They run tnt on Thursday nights and race on Sundays. Track prep is usually minimal and expect to run a few tenths under your best time @ Silver Dollar if your car is quick. Slower stuff run about the same. Really a good place to dial in a new combo if you are trying to be sneaky too.

Oh....I almost forgot to mention Macon National dragstrip. It's just off HWY 96 (same highway that goes by Silver Dollar) in Jeffersonville, GA. Only a few miles from I-16. It's not very close to Macon....lol. Kinda like Atlanta Dragway is no where near Atlanta, but way up in Commerce. The track in Jeffersonville has turned into a pretty nice track over the years as far as condition, layout, and facilities. It's changed hands quite a few times in recent years. I'm not sure how well track prep (or getting tech'd) is lately as it's been over a year since I went. It has potential to be a very fast track. As far as I know, they still TNT on Friday nights and run on Saturday. ??? Maybe someone will see this and correct me since I'm probably wrong.

I know there are alot of other tracks in & around GA, but I just thought I would mention 2 that are relatively close to Silver Dollar.

IF I were single and had no kids (well I'm half way there..have custody of three kids) I would make it a weekly ritual to hit up Eatonton on Thursday nights, Jeffersonville on Fridays, Silver Dollar on Saturdays, and finish out at Eatonton on Sundays. LOL A person who had a few different cars that only ran in the 8's to down into the mid 6's could mop up for awhile until everyone knew their cars/combos. By which time you could just change up stuff.

It's really hit or miss on what cars are there. The facilities have really been improved in the last few years.

Yea you guys are right. Not much here in Macon as far as any decent fast cars. Well there are alot of mustang GTs, 2010 camaros(mostly v-6s but few v-8s), charger rt and srt-8s around too. There are also few vettes here and there. A butt load of imports with fart can exhausts. Then, of course, just me in a my CETA....

Well, just found out that the guys at aamco didn't put the pump in right. Same guy who claimed he does work for rpm transmissions all the time. Yes, I knew he was lying the whole time.

Every know-it-all trans guy says he "does work for RPM all the time". I swear I can't remember the last jack *** who works on transmission that didn't say that.
