Negative. SLP never did any such badging, stickering or anything else. The previous owner must have put it there.

Oh I'm not saying they look bad, hell the previous owner of my car did it too. I'm just saying SLP didn't put them there.

I still have a couple of brochures from SLP from back in 2002. No pictures show an SLP Emblem, and they're not even an option with any of the stock stuff they did back then....IE. CME/Upgraded exhaust/Cold Air package/etc.

I'm pretty sure you didn't. I didn't buy mine new, but I know that there wasn't an SLP sticker back there when I bought my SS that has the SLP dual/dual with CME and the Blackwing Lid so its a 345 hp car, like it says on the SLP sticker on my passenger side door. I bought my SLP badge and put it on there. There is no option for that, its just a sticker or badge you people put on there. Its not that hard to imagine that you guys that bought yours used with the badge on there had a previous owner that put the badge or sticker there. Its not that hard to do. Sorry if I sound mean about this, but it was not an option.

One more time incase it was missed

The only 4th gen that came with any "extra" decal from SLP was the 95 Firehawk's hood HP decals (300HP or 315HP) as Pontiac bitched when SLP did this in 93-94 and "banned" them from doing it in 95. So the decals came extra in the glove box for the owner or dealer to install.

I like the look of the black one. I still have that sticker somewhere. Like the UltraZ sticker they put in the box with the hood.

Some people actually believe that was a car option. Even though SLP did make one for a magazine.

God if that IS the BIGGEST untruth!!!! . . .

ALL SS's every single solitry one, from 1996 to 2002 went to SLP.

SLP installed the hood and spoiler . . .

True, but....... those technically weren't "regular production" in the same sense that the LT1 cars were. LT4 hawks also had the 330HP decal on the rear bumper.

in 1998 GM took WS6 production away from SLP and gave it ASC. SS production continued with SLP until the end of the 99 model year. For 2000-2002 unless the car got extra eqiuipment (Y2Y) it was not shipped to SLP's LeSalle Quebec facility.

I have still to this day been unable to get a straight answer from anyone at SLP or the GM f-body brand teams as to what exactly happened and how SLP was able to F up such a sweet deal. But based on their other business models I can easily see why.

Now either GM put the base WU8 SS equipment on themselves or contracted it out to another off site shop. I'll have to pull out some old magazines to get the exact info as my memory is fading on this stuff as it's been almost 10 years.

Check your cars is you have a non (Y2Y) 00-02 SS, you won't find a single "modified by SLP" decal anywhere on the car.

By the way, someone mentioned the Ultra Z hood, SLP developed that hood with the intent for it to be the SS hood for the soon to be 96 SS. There are quasar blue "Z28SS" prototype pics floating around somewhere. GM saw that and said "um.... no" and sent the designers back to the drawing board to create the 79 Z28 style scooped hood for the 96 SS.
