Kain,

I am speaking of SLP ENGINEERING which was the GM tier 1 supplier aka f-body conversion company. That disappeared when the 4th gen did.

SLP performance parts (totally separate company) is still around..... barely.

Also
WU8 = base SS, these were the cars from 00-02 that didn't go to SLP as they don't have an "altered by SLP" sticker. Now SLP/GM's shop may have done the conversion but SLP was no longer running the show on these cars.

Y2Y = SS that goes to SLP for any of the following; suspension package Bilstein or Koni, castol package, dual dual, etc. It contains an SLP "second sticker."

You're talking about an SS not a Z right? The high flow induction system you are talking about is what I've got on my car, the Blackwing Lid. SS's could come with the SLP or Blackwing Lid, not cold air intake though.

Also, the 345 hp package is what I have on my car. The 345 hp package could come with the Blackwing Lid and the CME like mine or the lid and regular dual/dual.

Yes SS's, and no blackwing ever came factory from SLP, it was their own cold air lid, good for 10 horses according to the brochure I have. And I didn't say cold air intake, I said high flow induction which = lid.

As for SLP Eng, that is who made my brochure in 2002, as far as I know SLP PP and SLP Eng are one in ethe same, they just transplanted their headquarters and had to redesign their webpage.

Not according to SLP. If I had a scanner I'd scan in the brochure and let you guys see it. And if it was don't you think SLP would sell it? They don't even offer a blackwing air lid for F-Body's.

Below is a brochure for the new Firehawk G8 that SLP is doing for Pontiac. I basically have this for the 2002 SS Camaro. It has every option listed in it and gives 0-60/quarter times/skidpad, and all the other relevant data.

Dude you couldn't be many more futher from the truth. The 345 hp package IS the Blackwing Lid with either dual/dual exhaust or CME. They no longer make/sell the lid anymore which is why its so valuable and you see them pop up on here for like $300. See picture below for what a Blackwing Lid looks like. Same is true for the CME and chrome 10 spokes. They are all options on my car but they don't make them anymore. I would love to see all this info you have because its wrong. Its fine if you don't know these things, but don't spread wrong info on here. If you aren't sure ask.

Yes it was as I have one on my car. You will notice the Blackwing Logo down on the lower driver's side cornere of the lid.

With the sticker like it SHOULD be shown in your SLP brochure:

After I took the sticker off and how it looks now:

Yeah same pics that are in my brochure. Nowhere in there does it say blackwing though, just says SLP lid. There was an aftermarket blackwing lid you could also get, similar to the FTP lid I thought. I don't know, but if your factory lid says blackwing on it then I'm confused since it says SLP on it. Did blackwing make these for SLP then market there own version? Bad business if you ask me.

Its not aftermarket. It looks just like the brochure that you have and I'm pretty sure I have the same thing because I have both the SLP brochure that came with the car and like a glossy 8x11 or bigger that shows a black SS and the listed SLP options. I believe there was a Donaldson Blackwing and and SLP Blackwing, pretty sure they were the same thing though. If you look you can see that it says both SLP in the center and Blackwing down in the corner. Either way they aren't made for f-bodies anymore. The Blackwing is supposed to be slightly better, but I bet there isn't much of a difference over SLP or any other brand of lid. The thing that I like most about the Blackwing, besides that fact that its rare, is that it doesn't hit the hood like most SLP lids do. Its more of an oval shape going to the bellow instead of round like the SLP lid.

The Donaldson that's it. Yeah they must have made the lid for SLP, that's the only reason I can think of for it being so rare and SLP having to create a different one. I could be wrong, but you definitely can't find a blackwing airlid anymore, and SLP lids are a dime a dozen.

Yep like I said if you find someone selling a Blackwing Lid now they are going for like $300. You can get a SLP one for like $50-100.
