Yeah, very pricey sadly. I'm looking for one for my hood as well.

Thanks.

Hawks offers a original GM screen but don't have any in stock.

Is it still available from GM?

I just ordered an aftermarket from ebay for 30 bucks. My original one (From VFN) was larger 12"X 2". The replacement I got was 12" x 1.5" and it didn't fit. It not as nice a piece either.

Not sure if the hawk one is any better or not but it looks identical to the one I got. My next stop will be the dealer to see if I can get a hands on look at the OE replacement.

Thanks Jim.....

The one from Hawk's was listed as OE but they had none in stock. Every Repop I've seen doesn't fit and/or is Junk.

Please let us know what you may find at a dealer.

Got any pics? Maybe of a prototype?

The factory originals are plastic/polymer and flexable.

ya ill see if i cant scrounge up some cash for a prototype.. it would look identical to the factory and it wouldnt matter if its Billet or plastic.. the way it snaps into place will just have to be tweaked a bit but aluminum has a slight flex property to it and we had a prototype set of fender vents for trans ams at one point also... i could have them natural or anodozed but i think anodized would look best

Interesting Ty and thanks......

However, please keep in mind that the hood is plastic/fiberglass and I'am thinking plastic is the way to go.

Anodized billet might look cool but could introduce stress cracks into the hood opening. The originals are semi-gloss black in plastic and very flexable.

To me, it seems that the tabs that 'snap' the screen into place are the most difficult to get right.

Try gm it should be a stock item under 2002. I just got gm ss emblems last year and it was a stock part. If you have problems with part #s i called slp and they were great at helping me get the gm #.
