If you are going to buy a new f-body get a Firehawk.
but they are hard to find. I just happen to stumble apon mine at the right time and I wouldn't trade it for the world. The firehawk hood is the sexiest hood available for a f-body. But I would probally just keep the Z and mod it if I were you.

get a TA, all the way. I can see usually a dozen SS's each day, yet maybe 5 Ram Air Trans Ams a week. When you see that mean hood coming, you KNOW its a TA, not another cookie-cutter SS. Now I love camaors, always did. My dream would be a 69 ZL1, but you know how that would go. I could have bought either the SS or WS6 when I went shopping in 01, but the winner hands down was the TA. You'll stand out, be different, be noticed, and be part of a smaller, more fanatical niche, IMO, when you buy a Pontiac.

I had the same dilemma before buying my LS1 F-Body last year. I compared both cars coming down the Road and all I have to say is that the WS6 hood nostrils is what sold me. It looks so mean and agressive compared to the SS. I also like the Spoiler and all of the accents in the WS6 over the SS. WS6 my Vote.

Im sorry, but stock, neither will "pull alot harder" than the other. They have the same damn engine, with the same damn power, and the same damn chasis. If anything, the WS6 weighs slightly more. It's all a matter of taste.

Definately the WS6 is a more aggresive looking car. I've always felt that the Camaros we're a little too plain in comparison.
The firehawk on the hand... that is my choice.

And the WS6 isnt heavier than a SS

I skipped pages 2 and 3 of this thread, but i didnt think the ws6 weighed more than the ss.....i can see where the headlight assembly on a t/a & ws6 probably adds weight, but i have a motortrend from 2000 with that american muscle shootout. They said they weigh identical, and coincidentally- the ws6 was always a tenth or so faster in 1/4 drag testing and quicker 0-60...with the same driver. There are many variables that can affect performance, but both being brand new...just interesting i thought. I dont think all ws6's are faster, I just cant imagine where they weigh TOO much more than a SS. My vote is for SS by the way. Just put a hood and wing on your z and be done with it.

Depends what you want to do with it.. If you just want a bad assed looking car, the TA/Hawk can do that for you much easier than an SS can. You will pay more for the TA/Hawks, but they do really look cool. You can find a much cheaper Z28 than any of these options, and create your own wheel, ride height, spoiler/hood combo to get some pretty cool looks too. Its a tough decision!

If you want the pissed off get the hell out of my damn way or you will DIE a horrible death look, get the TA. But if you want the smoothier, less pissed off but you will still DIE with honor look, then just get an SS hood and spoiler, and represent with those z28 badges

i have one of each... i would recommend the T/A, the SS is a nice car dont get me wrong, i guess it is just personal preferance. I have the T/A and my wife drives the SS. But if u have a z28 already i would just get the spoiler and hood instead of buying anouther car, just dont take of the z28 badges and slap on SS badges, be proud to sport your z28 badges letting everyone know that u made the car the way it is

if you see a camaro on the street from a distance.. once you get up close, it ends up being a v6.. pisses me off.. but its much worse for mustangs.. the ratio has to be horrible, v6:v8... but if you see a firebird, your interested because you know theres a good chance its a formula or trans am.. or maybe thats just because i own one.. i cant help but get excited when i see those 2 fog lights by the licence plate or that raised spoiler... but when it comes down to it, as long as its a v8 fbody, preferably ls1, you cant go wrong.. ws6
