Default Special Edition Corvette w/1953 style body

See attached pics. I believe this one was at a dealership somewhere in Ohio.
I was just curious about how many were made, how they did it, etc.
Anyone know of a Website that gives more info on this special edition car?

BTW, I heard they're built on a 2004 or 2005 chassis, and retail for $80K plus.

That is a kit and as many can be made as long as people pay the large sum. A post regarding this same type of car was on here a few weeks ago with more information. I think 1 or 2 are on eBay. You may find more info. there.

Thanks for the reply.
I did a search on here before posting this, but apparently did not word it properly to bring up that thread. If anyone else has the link to that thread please post it. Interesting idea, but @ $80K plus, I doubt they will sell many.

Thanks again NOS! You were a wealth of info that round.

Some peeps think the car is hidious. . . Wow, strong word. A true GM enthusiast would consider the history of the beloved Corvette and its roots.
Many are not fans of the old 53 thru 55 body style, but never the less it was the first generation. Someone is paying tribute to it in their own way.

Your welcome. Well, I'm not sure but I think we are a populus of people that are spoiled, needy and have many specific selfish desires. A perfect example comes to mind of the "new" concept 5th gen. Camaro. There are many similar remarks regarding it. I feel if Chevrolet decides to bring back the car, it should be welcomed with open arms and open minds...not negative responses. Definately NOT a way to get a muscle car back.

Geez.. what picture could I use to describe that car? How about ?

Lots of talent, execution of the design, but holy hell what a crummy idea! The back is okay, the front sucks a nut! Even if the front was different, and they used the same back, the car is way too big.
Too bad they couldn't copy the '53 body and have the same size ('53 size) using the C-5 running gear. THAT!!!...would be worth their time!

From my Car and Driver calendar (Jan. 11th):

"Chuck Spielman, president of Only Yesterday Classic Autos in San Diego, California, commissioned this custom commemorating the original Vette".

This particular one was a 2003 Z06 made to look like a 53.

there were 2 at a dealership in socal, both were white with red interior.. but they were regular corvette's not the Z06.. the sticker price was 84k for each. look really good in person.. i like the front end alot but im not a fan of the rear.. ive also seen one driving on a freeway, makes people do a double take... if you're looking to be unique then i guess it will work for you.
