90's??? What are you talking about. There was a ZL1 show car that GM did in 96-97 that went through a few different stages and was updated with a 98+ clip and a 572 big block. The REAL ZL1's were all 2002 B4C Camaros and only 69 of them were built by GMMG and sold through select Chevy dealers with GM's approval. They could be had base with a 400HP LS6 motor, upgraded package was a cam/heads/headers for 475HP or the top dog, the C5R 427ci 600HP motor. Check GMMG's web site or search on here for more info on them.

HOPEFULLY everyone already knows about the 69 ZL1's which is why I didn't mention them. The ZL1 crate motors were just hype to sell the ZL1 name and overpriced crate motors. I'm still not seeing any 90's ZL1 Camaro you're talking about?!?!!

WOW! That wasn't even a custom repaint or anything. I wonder who paid that much for it. Matt Berger was selling his custom Hugger Orange ZL1 on Ebay last year and couldn't even get $90K he was asking for it. That link is just a plain red car with sticker stripes. Matt's was painted with HRE wheels and Hugger orange seats with houndstooth inserts.

The 572 ZL1 is my favorite, looks mean as hell even though the differences are subtle. I guess it doesn't have the history of the '69, but I wasn't around in 69... so I don't get any of that awesome car induced nostalgia the older guys feel.
