BLACK usually IS the "most common" color of all years. And for good reason, BLACK IS the BADDEST! (especially on a WS6)

Didnt have time to read it all.. but saw some about Yenko. Heres an original one. I know the owner. Only reason I say that is because at that exact show standing there, about 5 people went.. nah it's gotta be a clone.

1997 Formula WS6 - only 473 made, to my knowledge.... basically, you had to go to the dealership, and order a Formula with the WS6 package. I don't think Pontiac built them purposfully, only the TAs got that treatment.... correct me if I'm wrong....

When I was contemplating ordering my SS, color was the hardest choice for me. It would have been easy if HO or MY was offered... I even called SLP in 2/96 to find out the running breakdown by color. I liked teal a lot at the time, and it was definitely the lowest production, but I figured I'd have to live with it long term, which could be risky with teal...so I opted for the default '96 SS color, Press Shot Red. Kinda wish I had gone for T-tops and the Level II suspension though...

Can anyone help me with breakdowns for these configurations?

-1996 SS M6 Red Hardtop
-1999 Formula WS6 M6 Black T-Top

beat me to it. id give anything to have a 91/92 firehawk they look like a regular formula except the firehawk on the doors. imagine having one in 91/92 they would be the ultimate sleeper cause of the formula body

MY= Milennium Yellow, as per Corvette

WS6 was an RPO (regular production option) on T/A's AND Formula's (BOTH models, coupe OR convertible). Dealers generally stocked T/A's because those were the ones promoted, and therefore sought. (Burt Reynolds didn't drive no stinkin' Formula...) Formulas did NOT have the "cache' " of the T/A and were generally sought by those on a budget, or "racers" who didn't want all the toys a T/A generally featured...If you were VERY particular, and patient, you could order "what you wanted"...
Dealers stock "mainstream", NOT "extreme"...generally...
I once worked for a Dealer who's demo in 1969 was an L71/L89 Vette...with whitewalls and wheel covers!! Why? "Because, the more options they had, the more 'valued' they were...and the aluminum heads and 'covers and tires added to it's 'intrinsic value'..."

hate to burst your bubble, but they didnt have firehawk on the doors. they had it on the rear bumper....the green one which is the one most commonly known and seen does have it on the doors, but did not come from the factory like that. they were added later by an individual

The reason for making Z28's available to the public was so that it could be considered a "production" car. SCCA TransAm racing series required a minimum of 500 vehicles to be produced to be considered production. This is why they produced 602 Z28's in 67 (not 50-100).
