Bobby Labonte's Blackbird???
If you read the part where they said its a PHASE 2 car but with only 380hp. Isnt that wrong, it'd be only a phase 1 then... already off the bat, false advertising. Im not a fan of the green stripes either, it just doesnt seem to go with the car scheme, oh well. But its still cool to find a low mileage BB still for sale these days, and Just over 30k bidding- not to shabby!
This is my favorite line- "despite the creature comforts this car offers (removable tops, air bags, leather, c/d, power accessories, etc.), please don’t consider buying this beast for your teenager." That would be one lucky kid though if they got the car! Just thought I'd throw this up for you all.

Did you read the whole ad? He doesnt say its a phase II just that its the only one with headers. If I am correct, no phase I's had headers!! It certainly IS NOT false advertising and most likely is the #1 rarest phase I out there!!!

yes i agree the phase one is 380 Im preety sure the phase 2 is 435 and the phase 3 is 600. though Ive only seen very few blackbirds with the 435 package and none with the 600.

The only false advertising I see is that it says its got a carbon fiber lid and all it is is plastic with a fake carbon fiber print ontop.

Well sorry for misunderstanding the ad... what i read was "Ordinarily, this was part of a "Phase 2" package that was not available on the "dealer cars," but hey, this car was being built for Bobby Labonte!! As a result, the original 380 hp rating was a little low, and is probably closer to 400 hp"
You are def. right on the phase's and thats why i said it was false that they said it was a phase 2 with 380hp. There is a member on here who has a phase 3, i've seen pictures, its black. Plus there is def. other members on here too with different phases but havent seen anyother pics besides the obvious phase1.

Anyways, TO ALL- I appoligize for MY misunderstanding and inability to read!

i also own a gmmg. blackbird #5 i was 17 when my dad got it for me now am.. 19 when i first got it had 18k miles now like 25k miles so 7k miles in 2 years ant bad.. also done a few mods to it and am having a phase 2XVR plus 12 bolt done to it this year by mike over at vengence

Mike used to be the shop foreman at GMMG before starting his own shop last year.

He still isn't GMMG, he was just an employee. If you get his shop (Vengeance) to work on your car, that wont be same as if *GMMG* did the upgrade with documentation.

Unless you get GMMG papers to go with the work, you'll be trashing the resale/collector value.

Yes but unless you go through GMMG you WILL NOT get any GMMG documentation saying is a Phase II, which would be the same as doing the work yourself.

Just to clarify guys, Mike Carnahan did leave GMMG to open Vengeance, as did myself and Buddy (our head tech)... BUT we still have a great working relationship with GMMG. If Matt were to ask us to take care of any of the customers from the past we would be more than happy to WITH HIS BLESSING... The key to the GMMG cars is the documentation... Always has been, always will be.

FWIW, Matt does have a new Tech. His name is Mike also

That car is supercharged. It was added aftermarket as I recall by the person who owned that car...not GMMG. I remember seeing that car as well. As far as I know GMMG doesn't do forced induction?? All the cars I've ever seen from GMMG have been NA. I could be wrong but I'm almost positive. Help me out here Ron.

You are correct... GMMG cars were all built NA... Someone took it upon himself to modify that BB...
