Unfortunately California is one of those places that freight cost more to ship to - mostly because of the distance.
We do work with carriers to get the best possible discounts for our customers, but unfortunately it is still a lane that can range anywhere between $150-200.00 depending on which part the item is being shipped to.

If shipped, there is a crating charge of $20.00 added to the price of the hood.

Unfortunately hoods are too large for shipping with ups and instead require shipping by truck freight.
Generally these charges are paid direct to the carrier upon receipt of your item.

Average freight to a business or terminal location is $150-170.00.

thanks!

When are you guys gonna make a superhawk style hood for the birds. Seeing how finding a superhawk hood is as hard as finding WMD in iraq, id think they would sell extremely well.

Hi Guys!!

Cals400ex -
Pin on versions are cheaper because they do not have the additional frame on the underside of the hood - which you can bolt your hinges and front latch on to.
The pin on hoods are just the top side of the hood with foam reinforcement - designed for guys who are strictly racing the car and keeping weight as minimal as possible.
The pin ons are designed to attach using dzus fasteners - we recommend between 10-13 around the entire perimeter of the hood to ensure that no air can grab underneath it.

James562 & Ls1BLKSS-
It would save you guys shipping charges if you were to order both hoods at the same time and have them shipped together.
The way that freight companies operate is that they charge by hundred weight - which generally means that anything between 2 and 99lbs falls within the same price category - give or take $5-10.00.
So you guys would save the price of 2 separate freight charges and be able to split the costs on shipping one way instead.

991less-
Well, you don't have to look no further - at least for the pin on hoods, I don't know about those WMDs though
We can make the superhawk hood - as a pin on only - the price would normally be $595.00, but on the gp the price would be $510.00.

Thanks!!
Jeanie

Is there no way you guys can make it a bolt on? My Bird is a DD so a Pin on is out of the question.

What is the difference between the sunoco and sunoco wide? Can you still use your windshield wipers with the extended one? Do you know approximately how much a pin-on sunoco style hood weighs?

Sorry guys, I was a little confused on the hoods...
We make the Firehawk pin on hood (only pin on style)...however, do not offer the Superhawk hood - these were available thru a company who no longer sponsors, so if you'd like their info, I can gladly send it to you in a pm

Johns00z28-
The extended hoods are designed strictly for racing applications, so unfortunately you cannot use your wipers with the extended versions.
We do make the wide sunoco hood in a non extended pin on, which you can still use your wipers.

The regular Sunoco hoods are 3" in height.

The wide versions (extended and non extended) are 4 1/2" in height at the front and 3 1/2" in the back of the scoop (because of the slope it is on) so it gives better visibility.

When these hoods are added on to the car, you will actually have 6" in height at the front and 4 1/2" at the back because of the slope the car is at.

The extended sunoco can also be "bubbled" a little when you install it to grab an extra inch of clearance.

The wide versions of the hood were made after customers liked the extended version, but were not racing the car and wanted a bolt on version....these have the same scoops as the extended version, just not extended back to the windshield so you can run wipers and your factory cowl panel.
