This is a software suite right? How would I use my laptop with it? Would I need to buy some type of cable to connect to my car?

Oh ok I see, thanks. Just one more quick question; Does the software come with a "canned" tune or pre-loaded tune to benchmark from? Or does one have to use trial and error at the dyno? I am considering this in the spring but really have no clue what i'm doing.

For your car there are MUCH cheaper tuning options than HP Tuners. Do a little research, when I had an OBD1 LT1, like what you have, I got all the hardware and software for around $100 bucks. But for OBD2 you really can't go wrong with HPT.
