Which sponsors will carry the new Canton Oil Pan(s)
#6
Some of you have completely missed the point here. It's a "dry sump!" The LS1 is in need of something like this, especially for road racing, or any racing for that matter. It has bungs on the side for hookups. Canton Racing makes quality stuff. I've been using their remote filtration system on my car for a few years now. With the space being limited by the k-member on the F-body like it is, this would be about the only way to go to prevent oil starvation in racing situations, since nobody that I'm aware of makes a roadrace type pan.

We have 2 in stock with more being shipped on Friday. There are a few advantages. Weight is one and the other is better oil consumption. This pan allows flow better with the "Trap Door" than the stock one. The selling price is usually $575.00 but we will be running a discount thru the end of the year for $475.00 plus fittings. The features of this pan is:
Fully fabricated aluminum construction is significantly lighter than cast pan designs. Full road raCe style trap door baffling for oil control. Works with OEM windage trays but requires remote filter adapter (Included).
Part#13-270A.

There is probably an opportunity for Canton to make a C5 oil pan with trap doors for the wings. Right now, every serious road racer uses an Accusump because the engine will grenade on a long fast sweeper turn.

$715 from Katech. If you're serious about going to dry sump, talk to Harlan. He has the only dry sump that I know of on this site.

The Dry sump pan has a very thin profile with 2 pick up points welded directly into the side of the pan.

There are more than likely no HP gains from the road race pan. This is more oil control than anything. the trap doors in the pan keep the motor from oil staring in hard/extended cornering.
HP gains will be seen with a dry sump. 2-3 stage pumps usually net negligable gains. the big 4 and 5 stage pumps usually net 25+ at the tires on a sealed system.
