Shipping usually runs around $10 - $12 . There is a valbe cover clearance issue on the 97 and 98 LS1's , they will fit , but you will have to grind away the screw hole bosses slightly to get them to clear .

Thanks ,
Mike

Not only will you have to grind the screw hole bosses "slighly", I also had to grind the rocker itself back by the pushrod a little where it was coming in contact with the head. I also had to "slighly" grind the rocker above the roller tip, and i milled the underside of the valve cover, too avoid grinding too much of the rocker away. It was a major PITA, don't buy if you perimeter bolt heads.

I don't think i would call the grinding slight either.

Well , there you have it , you may want to stay away unless you have a 99 and up LS1 or you will have a difficult time making everything clear . Gimp98TNT , thanks for mentioning these things , we have never seen them on a 97-98 and were not aware of these issues , I am going off of what Harland Sharp mentioned to me .

Thanks ,
Mike

Mike,

Would I need to modify/grind my valve covers on my 5.3L Stage 2 heads to make sufficient clearance for the 1.7, or can I simply bolt them on and not worry?

Thanks, Mike

ttt for you!

Sexy rockers! I would be jumping on this deal if I wouldn't have just bought mine through another vendor. Mike, you might want to read the following link about HS rockers and aftermarket heads. TSP might have an answer to this too. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/211825-harland-sharp-rocker-valve-cover-clearance.html

I spoke with Harland Sharp about this , apparently the head castings are not always all identical , some (very little) may require very minor grinding , but it is very rare . All 99 and up LS1's should clear for the most part and this should include the 5.3 heads according to what they have told me . But like I said before , if you have a 97 or 98 , you will definitely have to do modificatons . We do have an appointment for an installation on a 99 LS1 with ported 5.3's next week , I will know for sure about these first hand after this .

Thanks ,
Mike

Thanks for the feedback. I'm scheduled to have East Coast Superchargers (ECS) in New Jersey install these rockers (along with a few other mods) on 13 and 14 September and had read on this forum that I may have to have them grind .010" off each of the four corners - behind the rocker - of my 5.3L valve covers (rather than grind the rockers) to ensure sufficient clearance. Please let me know if you had to modify the ported 5.3 you're about to work on because I would like to avoid any such mod. I sure appreciate it.

I placed an order for a set of the Harland Sharp 1.7 RR on your website. Can you send me a tracking number and ensure I receive them before Friday? Thanks.
