I'm in for a set of comp R's, maybe someone will do some sort of lifter GP on several brands. I have to get these in the very near future.... time for the cam install and tax returns are on the way!!

The rollers are bigger and the axles are larger too and the oil bands are better for larger lobes as well on the hydraulic and solid roller models. I think on the hydraulic roller they are known to not pump down or up excessively so their oil control is very good which can add some more rpm and reliability to an engine which is never bad. On the solid rollers they are one of the ONLY real drop in LS1 lifters that work with larger lobes at all.
I sell the Comps and Comp Rs too and we use them a lot as well on our regular hydraulic roller builds.

Everything Eric said above my reasons. My new cam is quite stout for a lil 347, 230's/240's enough over .600 on each side which is my daily driver and frequent flyer. So the Morels are POM, besides its what was recommended to me by the cam grinder, I think he knows his ****. The oil band improvements are an excellent step.

FWIW, it's not the lift that gets you with the oil bands, it's the base circle of the camshaft. My old cam and new cam have the exact same lift. My old cam (~1.4" base circle) worked fine with the Crane solid roller lifters. My new cam (~1.3" base circle) did not. Morels fixed that problem though.

Cool, thnanks for the info Camaroholic. I thought I was reading some old posts where they discussed cams with high lift and duration having oiling issues. I really dont think 230/240's and somewhere b/w .625 and .650 is high lift or duration rather a decent sized daily driver street/strip cam....so evil!
