Default Keyless Entry/Push Button Start

I live in chicago and just recently attended the autoshow. If anyone else has been there, and seen the new Corvette, you will know exactly what I am to talk about.

The new Corvette is totally keyless. The fob is a 2-way transmitter that auto-unlocks and auto-locks the door when you get within one meter of it. I think this would be an awesome addition to my car, and I would like to know if anyone has attempted this. I am also wondering if the system found on the C4 vette would work on my car. I guess my question is will this modulator that sends and recieves information from the fobs communicate with my stock PCM?

Idea number two is also from the vette (guess if I liked the car or not...) It has a push button start. The module knows that the fob is within one meter of the car and allows the car to be started by a button. This seems slightly more difficult, and was not found on the C4. From what I could gather, in order to start the car, the computer necessitates the fob to be present to allow the system to be started. I intend to apply both systems to my Trans Am one way or another. If anyone has any ideas, please help me out.

I believe this has been around for a while. I can remember seeing a ZR1 a while back that had the same type of setup. I thought it was pretty damn cool.

Yes, it is cool. The ZR1 you are referring to only had the keyless entry setup. I did however do some research today and I concluded the following: Both the old ZR1 setup and the new Vette setup have BCMs and modulators that communicate on what is called "Class 2 Serial Data." So in a perfect world you can just add tthe module into the car and set it up to talk to any PCM. This isnt hard at all with access to a Tech 2. The problem is that the new vette may have toher actuators (for instance the door, trunk, ect.) just like the new trail blazers do. If this is the case, then it may be a little more tricky because not only will the BCM have to communicate with the module, it will also have to be able to talk to the other actuators. All I really need is a wiring schematic of the system and I will know how to do what I want to do. The next project is to figure out how to bypass all the Pass Key systems involved with starting the car for the push button start.

The auto lock on the C4 was just downright annoying. I hated that thing.

I would really like a system like this to work. So many people have posted that they are going to try but no one has followed through. Please keep us up to date if you get any info on this!

Once you figure out how to by pass the VATS system or authenticate remotely, it would be cool to use the S2000 Engine Start button.

Constrictor 98TA did it. Here is his site:

These are all just to install the button itself...I am talking about just utilizing that specific start button once someone figures out how to get remote VATS authentication. That is really the key...to be able to sit down in the car, not put a key in and just press the start button and have VATS authenticated by a transponder in your pocket!

I've looked into this and I'm actually very serious about attempting this set up. I looked up some parts for an 07 corvette and I'm in the process of getting clarification of what they actually are. If someone could shed some light on this faster it would be greatly appreciated.

25786622 Reciever
10372541 Transmitter (key fob??)
10448049 Antenna
15894410 Ignition switch

I'm also looking into getting all the parts needed to use the electronic door pops that are used in the Corvette and the XLR.

I have found out that PN# 10372541 is infact the KEY FOB itself.

The questions I now have are the following:

Where can I locate wiring diagrams for a Vette equiped with this system?
Can this function as an isolated/stand alone system ?
Does this system have any interaction with the car's BCM ?

Any help would be great, I'm going to try and see if I can make sense of any of the info I can get from diagrams used to install an aftermarket remote start.
