It was the typical Saturday night at the spot, When a buddy of mine with his 69 Nova gets hit up. So my friend request that I take look under the hood of this 89-91 Stang.
Well the guy says he wants to race (for a 100.00)But doesn't want to pop the hood. From just looking at this Stang I see Hoosier Quick times(Street cheater)on it and some suspension (normal 5.0 tricks).
Word has it my old partner (back in my 5.0 days)just finished tuning it, 347 with a cam and (stock heads ported ).
So I tell my buddy you'll be fine,the Nova's running a stroked small block, turbo 350 and 410s.....and DRs.
This race is all about 60ft and I've seen the Nova run on some pretty dirty roads and come out on top.
SO we line'em up....We put down some VHT (track bite)let some air out, burn'em and stage!
The stang drive does his burn out and stages(its over )No VHT, No lowering the pressure thats it
The Nova pulls 1 1/2 the first 60ft and finishes the same.
Time to pay..........Now the excuses , which there is none
You move you lose is the CREED on the street.
He says "Man you put that Nova in the juice and that **** hooked like the track" I say "And you run what you brung"
So pay up! One thing leads to another I just about, no I went off, but pulled it back together.It wouldn't served any purpose rolling these guys (way to easy)
So I give him the speech . Keep your money and take this lesson for free and remember everytime you see me or that car You got worked and weren't man enough to pay!
It seems my old partner inflated this kids ego but failed to educate him on the game and certainly on respect.
In Los Angeles city this kid would of been in real trouble!
